It’s origins were humble; in fact, the very first meeting of “The City of the Living God at Lakewood” was held at the “Star Of Hope Men’s Development Center,” in 2005. A caring atmosphere, quality leadership, and community outreach attracted people from all ages, religious backgrounds, races, and walks of life.

Today, Evangelist/Pastor – Robert McAuthor Thomas, Jr., has become known as a “Fire Baptized” preacher of the Gospel. He is constantly busy leading the lost in Houston, Texas, and around the world to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. Whether preaching to millions on the worldwide web or speaking to a single person. Evangelist, Thomas’s, honesty, integrity, and leadership is gaining him the respect and administration of people worldwide.

The City of the Living God at Lakewood has a desire to become a congregation of nearly equal members of Caucasian, Hispanic and African-American members. Form his earliest memory, Evangelist/Pastor, Thomas, sat at the knee of his grandfather the late reverent “Will Thomas, whose entire life was focused on reaching those in need of the life changing message of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. Turning to the ministry of street evangelism, Evangelist, Thomas., became a successful soul winner and developed a global outreach ministries.
