  • Walking with God

O let me walk with Thee, my God, As Enoch walked in days of old; Place Thou my trembling hand in Thine, And sweet communion with me hold; E’ven though the path I may not see, Yet, Jesus, let me walk with Thee

Walking with God is to investigate the Truth, believe it, and live by it

    Genesis 5:22–24 NASB95
Then Enoch walked with God three hundred years after he became the father of Methuselah, and he had other sons and daughters. So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years. Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.
    Genesis 5:22–24 NASB95
Then Enoch walked with God three hundred years after he became the father of Methuselah, and he had other sons and daughters. So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years. Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.
    Genesis 5:22 NLT
After the birth of Methuselah, Enoch lived in close fellowship with God for another 300 years, and he had other sons and daughters.
    Matthew 6:33 NLT
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
    Matthew 6:33 NLT
Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
    Matthew 6:33
    Hebrews 11:5–6 NLT
It was by faith that Enoch was taken up to heaven without dying—“he disappeared, because God took him.” For before he was taken up, he was known as a person who pleased God. And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.
    Hebrews 11:1 NLT
Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.
    He
Prayer is asking for rain. Faith is putting up the umbrella when you cannot see a cloud in the sky AT THE WORD OF GOD [Noah]
    Galatians 3:11 NLT
So it is clear that no one can be made right with God by trying to keep the law. For the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.”
    John 17:17 NLT
Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth.
    Galatians 3:11

Our faith must be based upon our knowledge of God’s Word

    Romans 10:1–3 NASB95
Brethren, my heart’s desire and my prayer to God for them is for their salvation. For I testify about them that they have a zeal for God, but not in accordance with knowledge. For not knowing about God’s righteousness and seeking to establish their own, they did not subject themselves to the righteousness of God.

    John 5:39–40 NLT
“You search the Scriptures because you think they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me! Yet you refuse to come to me to receive this life.
    1 Corinthians 2:16 NLT
For, “Who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to teach him?” But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ.
    Ephesians 5:26 NASB95
so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word,
    Philippians 2:5 KJV 1900
Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
    Amos 3:3 NLT
Can two people walk together without agreeing on the direction?
Yes. But the walk will be frustrating and difficult because of the unwillingness of one to agree with the other.

    Repentance is required

    Acts 26:19–20 NLT
“And so, King Agrippa, I obeyed that vision from heaven. I preached first to those in Damascus, then in Jerusalem and throughout all Judea, and also to the Gentiles, that all must repent of their sins and turn to God—and prove they have changed by the good things they do.

After repentance, we must intentionally walk with God

    2 Peter 3:9 NLT
The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.
Repentance is changing your mind like a car making a U-turn
The way we live must come into alignment with the way Jesus teaches us to live
    2 Corinthians 3:15–18 NLT
Yes, even today when they read Moses’ writings, their hearts are covered with that veil, and they do not understand. But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.
As we behold [investigate God’s Word] and become acquainted with God by our experiences interpreted by God’s Word, we become transformed into the same image [nature, moral character]
    2 Corinthians 4:
Beholding is about learning God’s point of view on every subject of life to intentionally live in alignment with God’s point of view
    2 Corinthians 4:3 NLT
If the Good News we preach is hidden behind a veil, it is hidden only from people who are perishing.
    2 Corinthians 4:6 NLT
For God, who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ.
    2 Corinthians 4:5 NLT
You see, we don’t go around preaching about ourselves. We preach that Jesus Christ is Lord, and we ourselves are your servants for Jesus’ sake.
    Hebrews 1:3 NLT
The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and he sustains everything by the mighty power of his command. When he had cleansed us from our sins, he sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven.
    John 1:18 NASB95
No one has seen God at any time; the only begotten God who is in the bosom of the Father, He has explained Him.
