    I) The Messenger (7)

    Philidelphia
    Jesus Christ
    He is Holy
Jesus claims He is the same essence as God
Holy means - To be set apart
Jesus is definitely set apart from all other beings
This means something to the Church
It means they are following the One True Holy God!
The Church is protected by Christ!
    He Is True
    True as opposed to false
    genuine not counterfeit
    Real not unreal
He is the only True God
    THIS MEANS
God is not off in a far away place.
    He is not distant
Many would have us believe He is no longer interested in man.
He is revealed to us through the Holy Spirit
ALL THINGS OF THE CHURCH MUST FOCUS ON JESUS
    MISSIONS
    TEACHING
    PREACHING
    AND ALL OTHER ACTIVITIES
He is the “Key of David”
Eliakim - servant of King Hezekiah
given the key to the throne room
made all decisions of who saw the King and who didn’t
    (NKJV)
22 The key of the house of David I will lay on his shoulder; So he shall open, and no one shall shut; And he shall shut, and no one shall open.
    2. Jesus holds the Key to the Throne Room of God
    a. He alone decides who enters and who does not!
    (NKJV)
27 and has given Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of Man.

    II) The Commendation (8)

This is what the church should be
It used Evangelism and missions to reach People
    It bordered the 3 cities
It went into these cities to evangelize
Christ promises to keep the “door”open to evangelism and missions.
    The church had “little” strength
    A small church
    a tired church
    a church with little resources
    Yet reaching the lost
    Christ is impressed
Gives them a pat on the back
promises to bless them with more opportunity
THE MISSION OF THE CHURCH IS TO REACH THE LOST!
They were faithful to the word of God
    Studied the Word of God
    lived the Word of God
they proclaimed the Word of God
They always professed Christ as Lord
    in all that they did
    no matter the persecution

    III) The Hope (9-10)

There is Great hope given to the church
the “Synagogue” of Satan will bow down to true believers.
These were those claiming to be true Jews
    A true Jew
    Believes in Jesus Christ
    doesn’t claim racial descent
but, walks in the way of Abraham
    With faith in Jesus
Believers will experience a great deliverance.
Great Tribulation will involve 2 terrible things
There will be persecution from the Antichrist.
    (NKJV)
7 It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every tribe, tongue, and nation.
8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
ii. There will be judgement on all those who deny Christ
    (NKJV)
14 Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints,
15 to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.”

    IV) The Counsel (11)

    Hold strong in all things
    He is coming
    (NKJV)
