From Glory to Glory 4 - HOW to Bring God Glory
  • today on the earth
How do we bring glory to the Glorious One, and is the source of glory?
How do you add to someone who has it all?
How do you give something to someone who made everything?
It’s like trying to make water wetter
Jesus IS the Glory of God
    Hebrews 1:3 NLT
3 The Son radiates God’s own glory and expresses the very character of God, and he sustains everything by the mighty power of his command. When he had cleansed us from our sins, he sat down in the place of honor at the right hand of the majestic God in heaven.

Christ reveals God’s Glory TO us

    Romans 9:23 NLT
23 He does this to make the riches of his glory shine even brighter on those to whom he shows mercy, who were prepared in advance for glory.

Christ is Glorified THROUGH us – Christlikeness

May the world see God’s glory - in us
How - healing, deliverance, telling the truth, salvation, walking in love
How - through Answered prayer, signs, wonders, miracles, physical presence,
    from manifestation to habitation

    Forgiveness

Forgiving and blessing enemies - God’s love in me is bigger than your trespass against me

    Recovery

God gets glory from recovery -
    even after defeat -
even through the enemy stole King David’s family and fortune,
God was glorified when he went back and recovered all! -
God is glorified when you recover your health, family, reputation, testimony, ministry (Gal 6:1))
    Check your attitude!
Stop wallowing in the past -
    turn the frown upside down!
His mercies are new every morning!

    Victory

⁃ Victory - over sin, break bad habits, shatter addictions, new lifestyle
    ⁃ Winning the battles
    ⁃ Defeating the attack

    Authority

⁃ Authority - dominating, ruling, order

    Faith

    Faith– like Abraham
    Romans 4:20 NLT
20 Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God.

    Perseverance

Perseverance – like Stephen - even unto death
    Acts 6:14–15 NLT
14 We have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy the Temple and change the customs Moses handed down to us.” 15 At this point everyone in the high council stared at Stephen, because his face became as bright as an angel’s.
    Acts 7:55 NLT
55 But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed steadily into heaven and saw the glory of God, and he saw Jesus standing in the place of honor at God’s right hand.

    Unity

    John 17:22 NLT
22 “I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one.
Ephesians prayer – God’s glory in you!
    Ephesians 3:16–17 NLT
16 I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. 17 Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.
    Ephesians 3:20–21 NLT
20 Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. 21 Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.
⁃ Unity - our majors are bigger than our minors
⁃ our commonalities are stronger than our differences
⁃ Our love for the vertical is stronger than our _____ horizontal
⁃ Working together - co laborers

    Lifestyle

    1 Corinthians 10:31 NLT
31 So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

    Spiritual Growth

    Ephesians 1:15–18 NLT
15 Ever since I first heard of your strong faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for God’s people everywhere, 16 I have not stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, 17 asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. 18 I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance.

    Passing Spiritual Tests and Trials

    Romans 8:17–18 NLT
17 And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering. 18 Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.
    1 Peter 1:6–7 NLT
6 So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. 7 These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.

And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me. 22 “I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one. 23 I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me. 24 Father, I want these whom you have given me to be with me where I am.
