Prayers for Sunday, 10 November

The Twenty-Fifth Sunday after Pentecost

Sentence:

Give and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap; for the measure you give will be the measure you get back. Luke 6:38

Prayer of the Day:

O God, whose blessed Son came into the world that he might destroy the works of evil and make us your children and heirs of eternal life: grant that, having this hope, we may purify ourselves as he is pure; that, when he comes again with power and great glory, we may be made like him in his eternal and glorious kingdom; where he lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Prayer of the Week:

Blessed Lord, you have caused all holy Scriptures to be written for our learning: grant that we may so hear them, read, mark, learn and inwardly digest them, that, by patience and the comfort of your holy word, we may embrace and ever hold fast the blessed hope of everlasting life, which you have given us in our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen.

BRISBANE COLLECT 1

THANKSGIVING:

Almighty God, Creator of all things, we thank you for making us in your image and giving us life. Though we have sinned, you loved us and sent your Son, Jesus, who lived the life we could not live and died the death that we deserve. We come to you in humble dependence, thankful for the glorious gospel of the risen Lord Jesus, through whom we are forgiven, saved and called to serve you forever.

To you be all glory, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Amen
