Isaiah 40:31 New Living Translation
But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.
I am so happy that it's Friday. It seems like I’ve done three weeks worth of work this week, and I’m looking forward to recharging. I know I will because the scripture says if I just trust in the Lord I’ll find new strength. I learned this verse in the King James Version, and wondered many times how I was supposed to wait on the Lord. Was I supposed to stand still and wait for Him or was I supposed to wait on Him like I was a waitress? This version clears it up for me. My job is to trust in Him. That means that I trust His program. I trust His way of doing things. I trust His Word. I trust that all this is going to work out for my good. I trust that I am the head and not the tail. I trust that as my soul prospers, my health and everything else in my life has to get in line.
It’s also interesting to me that it says that when I trust Him I will find new strength. I have to seek in order to find. If I would seek first the Kingdom, everything else will be added. If I seek His plan, I’ll find it. If I seek Him for life and strength, I’ll be renewed. As believers we have no need to look for something to pick us up or get us going. We don’t need anything but trust in the Lord to give us the extra boost we need for the day. Let’s trust in the Lord today.
Lord, I trust You. I trust Your plan for today. I’m looking to You to renew me and revive me. Empower me to accomplish Your will for my life today. Energize me so that I can bless everyone around me. In Jesus’ Name…
