5 Things to Know this Week @ First Church
Jesus Christ is risen! He is risen indeed. Hallelujah. Amen!
1 Easter Sunday Celebration
This most wonderful and holy of Sundays will find us celebrating the risen King Jesus with music, readings, and prayers. We’ll hear from the ARK Kidz Choir, the Chancel Choir, and a special Spring Quartet, along with our Praise Band. Pastor MJ will preach on John 20:14-18, “The Resurrected King?”
2 Brunch & Egg Hunt
Easter Brunch at 9 a.m. will be potluck style, so bring your favorite dish to share. The Children’s Egg Hunt happens at 9:30 on the lawn. The forecast is clear but chilly, so make sure your little egg hunters bundle up. Don’t miss the photo booth in the Fellowship Hall.
3 Maundy Thursday
On Maundy Thursday at 6 p.m., we’ll gather in the Fellowship Hall to remember the last hours of Jesus’ life. We’ll begin with supper, continue with communion and footwashing, and conclude with a Service of Darkness. Please join us.
4 Prayer vigil
Jesus called his disciples to "watch and pray" (Mark 14:34) with him in his final hours. We will honor Jesus by doing just that during our prayer vigil from 10 a.m. on Saturday through 7 a.m. on Sunday morning in the sanctuary. We still have a few openings:
Saturday 2-3 p.m.
Saturday 10-11 p.m.
Sunday 2-3 a.m.
Sunday 3-4 a.m.
Please enter through the north door from the handicapped parking lot.
5 Easter Offering for Marshall Fire Victims’ Fund
Our Easter Offering will head to Grace Commons Church’s assistance fund for victims of the Marshall Fire in Boulder County. The Marshall Fire began on December 30, 2021, and destroyed 1084 structures, making it the most destructive fire in Colorado history. Among homes destroyed were those of several staff members and families at Grace Commons Church, our sister ECO church in Boulder. Please give generously as you are able.
