Common questions you may have about Church at Willow Beach

1. What time are the services?

Sunday School begins at 9:30 a.m.
Sunday worship begins at 10:30 a.m.
There is no Sunday evening service except the last Sunday evening of each month. Those evening services throughout the year involve different types of service, such as Lord’s Supper, fellowship meals, business meetings, guest musicians, picnics, etc.
Wednesday evening service is from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Children classes are filled with great Bible stories.
Youth classes are exciting as the Youth Minister brings the Bible to life on how to live in today’s world.
Adult Bible class for in-depth study of God’s Word.

2. Are there reserved parking spaces for the handicapped and first time visitors?

Handicap parking and first time visitor parking spaces are available in front of the entrance.

3. Is the building handicap accessible with handicap restrooms?

The facilities pass all city codes for handicap accessibility, and also provides restrooms friendly to individuals with physical impairments.

4. What about childcare; is it available?

We have dedicated volunteers, members in our church family, who provide safe childcare for infants and toddlers.

5. What should I wear on Sunday morning?

Out of respect for God, one should give thought to what he or she wears. However, the more important issue is the attitude of the heart. God is not impressed with our clothes, but rather with our heart’s desire to seek Him, His Word, His love, and His forgiveness of our sins.

6. What will happen when I come to the church?

You will be warmly greeted by several people throughout the church.
You will not be asked to stand and tell where you are from. We do not want to embarrass anyone.
A greeter will hand you a bulletin which outlines our worship format and identifies other calendar events for the week. If you area first time guest, you will also be given additional information about our church. In that booklet will be a first time visitor card that we would appreciate you filling out and placing in the offering plate.

7. What does your worship service consist of?

Our worship services are approximately 60-75 minutes long, utilizing PowerPoint to provide song lyrics, scriptures, pictures and information.
There will be a mixture of choruses and hymns for a blended service of worship by music.
Close to the beginning of the worship service, the pastor will have the children come to the front of the auditorium for a short Bible lesson.
After the story, the youngest children will go to the toddler area of the church building where they will have videos and other activities of teaching.
The preaching of God’s Word and receiving the love offerings from church members are all part of giving honor and worship to God.

8. Will I be asked to give money?

Our church members, who have committed themselves to their church family, support their church family with their offerings. Giving is a form of worship. As our guest, you will not be asked to support anything. However, if God prompts you to provide a financial gift, it will be used to honor Him and His work through this church family. If you desire a tax contribution statement at the end of the year, you will need to use an offering envelope with your name and address on it.

9. Are there any “altar calls” or “invitations” at the end of the worship service?

The pastor ends a sermon with an invitation to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
The invitation is made available to anyone that feels impressed to pray in the altar, desire prayer with the pastor, to discover how to ask Christ into your heart, or to join the church membership.
If you need a quiet place to talk and ask further questions, the pastor or one of the members will be available to meet with you immediately.

What to Pray
Many times people do not know what to pray. It’s really not the words that are as important as what the heart desires. However, to give you some words to help, here is a simple prayer, that if said from your heart, can be a sinner’s prayer for salvation:
“Dear Father, I know that I am a sinner and need forgiveness. I believe that Christ died for my sin. I am willing to turn from sin. I now invite Jesus Christ to come into my heart and life as my personal Savior. I am willing, by God’s grace, to follow and obey Christ as the Lord of my life.”
This is just the beginning of a wonderful new life with Christ.
Now What Do I Do?
Read your Bible every day in order to know Christ better.
Talk to God in prayer every day.
Tell others about God.
Be baptized, worship, fellowship and serve with other Christians in a church where Christ is preached.
