We can accomplish our calling by the power of the Holy Spirit
We all need help from time to time
    We:
We all need help from time to time
    When something does not work.
The good news is that all believers has a helper so powerful that we cannot fully comprehend, the Holy Spirit
    God
    Spirit in the OT
We see the Spirit from time to time.
    Genesis
The Spirit gives life to humanity and the other creatures: breath of life
The Spirit came upon certain judges,
“But Samson did not know that the Lord had left him.”
His Spirit in His people in a way that would cause them to live according to His statutes

    Pentecost in the OT
    50 days after Passover
    Feast of Weeks
Pentecost came to be celebrated as the anniversary feast of the giving of the Law or the establishment of the covenant at Sinai.
    John 16:4–15 ESV
4 But I have said these things to you, that when their hour comes you may remember that I told them to you. “I did not say these things to you from the beginning, because I was with you. 5 But now I am going to him who sent me, and none of you asks me, ‘Where are you going?’ 6 But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. 7 Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you. 8 And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: 9 concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; 10 concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no longer; 11 concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. 12 “I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now. 13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come. 14 He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you. 15 All that the Father has is mine; therefore I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you.
There is an important promise here that we miss. We miss it because it happened 2000 years ago, and now we do not see the spiritual gifts as they once were, but we are still empowered by the holy spirit. We are still comforted by him, our eyes are opened, are hearts are made alive again.
We can accomplish our calling by the power of the Holy Spirit
Coming of the Holy Spirit was an incredible sight. When we read Acts 2, its something we cannot truly imagine. In this we are empowered bu the Holy Spirit which gives us the power to go and do. What did they first do, they immediately went and witnessed to the lost.

    Acts 2:1–4 ESV
1 When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. 2 And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. 3 And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.
(James when we are indwelt there is a level we cant help but to go and do. This needs to be fostered or our sinful nature will dull this).
We can accomplish our calling by the power of the Holy Spirit
Romans 8 is an important passage on the Holy Spirit, and is the longest passage on Him.
    Romans 8:1–11 ESV
1 There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. 3 For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, 4 in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. 5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. 6 For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. 7 For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God’s law; indeed, it cannot. 8 Those who are in the flesh cannot please God. 9 You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. 10 But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.
We live according to the Spirit, we keep in mind the things of the Spirit.
We live because of the Spirit of life lives in you, body is dead, but you are alive
Spirit helps us within us. The Spirit intercedes for us according to the will of God.
We please God indwelt by the Spirit because in this we are now righteous.
We are still a part of the fallen world. We are still fallen and depraved. Our bodies are dead, but we are alive because of the Spirit. We are given life in the Spirit.

    Romans 8:26–30 ESV
26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. 27 And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. 28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. 29 For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30 And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.
He helps us in our weakness.
He gives us th words according to the will of God.
