  • The Bible consist of

    Doctrine (teaching)
    Promises
    Prophecies
    Spiritual Principles
    What you can trust in:
As times grow darker the prophetic Word is going to be your light to see through every lie.
2 Peter 1:19–21 “And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.”
    The Testimony of Jesus:
And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” Re 19:10B
The Prophets of The Old testament prophesied for their generation, the 1st coming of Christ & His 2nd coming (The Last days)
Interwoven throughout Biblical Prophecy you will find promises made to Israel & promises about the church in hidden ways.

The Bible has Promises for the church & the nation of Israel alike

    For the church (The believer)

Jew & Gentile in one Body

Ephesians 2:14–16 For Christ himself has brought peace to us. He united Jews and Gentiles into one people when, in his own body on the cross, he broke down the wall of hostility that separated us. He did this by ending the system of law with its commandments and regulations. He made peace between Jews and Gentiles by creating in himself one new people from the two groups. Together as one body, Christ reconciled both groups to God by means of his death on the cross, and our hostility toward each other was put to death.

John 10:14–16 “I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd.”

God has promised the Church greater promises

    2 Peter 1:3–4
His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us His very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
    2 Corinthians 1:20–22
For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory. And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us, and who has also put his seal on us and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.
    John 7:38–39 (NKJV)
He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
Ephesians 1:13–14 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.
    Luke 12:31–32
But seek the kingdom of God, and all these things shall be added to you. “Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

God has made promises to Israel concerning The Land of Canaan

God has also revealed through the prophets that the nation of Israel will return to him as remnant.

What is the meaning of a remnant?

A portion of people left after a disaster, especially a disaster identified with divine judgment or chastisement. In Prophetic writings the term “remnant” describes those who remain faithful to God despite suffering and who ultimately experience deliverance & restoration

An example of Isreal as a remnant

    Isaiah 10:21–22
The remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob, To the Mighty God. For though your people, O Israel, be as the sand of the sea, A remnant of them will return; The destruction decreed shall overflow with righteousness.
Israel was restored back to The Land after they were kicked out by The Babylonian Empire because of their Idolatry, they returned under the leadership of Ezra & Nehemiah in 539-432 B.C
    Ezra 9:8
And now for a little while grace has been shown from the Lord our God, to leave us a remnant to escape, and to give us a peg in His holy place, that our God may enlighten our eyes and give us a measure of revival in our bondage.

Historical Background & context for our generation:

The 2nd time Israel was kicked out of The land was during the time of the New Testament church in & around 135 A.D

Before they were kicked out of the land of Israel the Jews conducted two revolts against the Roman Empire
When the Roman Empire kicked the Jews out of Isreal after their revolts failed, they called it Palestine a transliteration for the word Philistine.
These revolts eventually lead to the biggest diaspora in Jewish history, with Jews being spread around the world before being regathered to The land of Israel 1948
The first revolt was launched in the years 66-70 A.D which lead to the destruction of the Temple in Jersualem.
After that a false Messiah by the name of Bar-Kochba in 132 A.D was able to start another revolt against the Roman legion which lasted about 3 & a half years. In some rabbinical writings he was referred to as Bar-Koziba, which meant“son of a lie”
A prominent Rabbi named Rabbi Akiba, considered bar Kosiba to be the Messiah, he called him “son of the star” (Aram kôkbāʾ), perhaps suggesting a messianic interpretation of numbers 24.17
Num 24.17:“I see Him, but not now; I behold Him, but not near; A Star shall come out of Jacob; A Scepter shall rise out of Israel, And batter the brow of Moab, And destroy all the sons of tumult.”
After The rejection of their true Messiah the Jews were looking for another one. This will play itself out again with the rise of the anti-christ during the tribulation period which the anti-christ will deceive the nation of Israel to make “a covenant with death”(a false peace treaty) with him
Isaiah 28:14–18 NASB Therefore, hear the word of the Lord, O scoffers, Who rule this people who are in Jerusalem, Because you have said, “We have made a covenant with death, And with Sheol we have made a pact. The overwhelming scourge will not reach us when it passes by, For we have made falsehood our refuge and we have concealed ourselves with deception.” Therefore thus says the Lord God, “Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a tested stone, A costly cornerstone for the foundation, firmly placed. He who believes in it will not be disturbed. “I will make justice the measuring line And righteousness the level; Then hail will sweep away the refuge of lies And the waters will overflow the secret place. “Your covenant with death will be canceled, And your pact with Sheol will not stand; When the overwhelming scourge passes through, Then you become its trampling place.
During this false covenant of peace with the anti-christ that will lead to death, 2/3 of Jewry will be killed.
Zechariah 13:8–9 “And it shall come to pass in all the land,” Says the Lord, “That two-thirds in it shall be cut off and die, But one-third shall be left in it: I will bring the one-third through the fire, Will refine them as silver is refined, And test them as gold is tested. They will call on My name, And I will answer them. I will say, ‘This is My people’; And each one will say, ‘The Lord is my God.’ ””
We can see The World Stage being set right now as we speak, God is moving His prophetic chess pieces in place.
That’s why The nation of Israel has to be in its place as a nation to bring about The Lord’s coming.
This is the enemy’s last strong hold, if He can remove Israel as a Jewish state, & in its place put an Islamic one, the devil truly thinks he can actually stop The Lord’s return.
This is where the church comes in, every soul we win is adding to the number of the fulness of gentiles Paul explains in his prophecy. We will look at this a bit later.

God through the prophets made promises of restoring Israel back to their land in our day

Ezekiel 11:17 “Therefore say, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “I will gather you from the peoples, assemble you from the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.” ’”
Jeremiah 30:3–11 (NKJV) For behold, the days are coming,’ says the Lord, ‘that I will bring back from captivity My people Israel and Judah,’ says the Lord. ‘And I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.’ ” Now these are the words that the Lord spoke concerning Israel and Judah. “For thus says the Lord: ‘We have heard a voice of trembling, Of fear, and not of peace. Ask now, and see, Whether a man is ever in labor with child? So why do I see every man with his hands on his loins Like a woman in labor, And all faces turned pale? Alas! For that day is great, So that none is like it; And it is the time of Jacob’s trouble, But he shall be saved out of it. ‘For it shall come to pass in that day,’ Says the Lord of hosts, ‘That I will break his yoke from your neck, And will burst your bonds; Foreigners shall no more enslave them. But they shall serve the Lord their God, And David their king, Whom I will raise up for them. ‘Therefore do not fear, O My servant Jacob,’ says the Lord, ‘Nor be dismayed, O Israel; For behold, I will save you from afar, And your seed from the land of their captivity. Jacob shall return, have rest and be quiet, And no one shall make him afraid. For I am with you,’ says the Lord, ‘to save you; Though I make a full end of all nations where I have scattered you, Yet I will not make a complete end of you. But I will correct you in justice, And will not let you go altogether unpunished.’
    Ezekiel 36:8–12 NKJV
But you, O mountains of Israel, you shall shoot forth your branches and yield your fruit to My people Israel, for they are about to come. For indeed I am for you, and I will turn to you, and you shall be tilled and sown. I will multiply men upon you, all the house of Israel, all of it; and the cities shall be inhabited and the ruins rebuilt. I will multiply upon you man and beast; and they shall increase and bear young; I will make you inhabited as in former times, and do better for you than at your beginnings. Then you shall know that I am the Lord. Yes, I will cause men to walk on you, My people Israel; they shall take possession of you, and you shall be their inheritance; no more shall you bereave them of children.”

Me & you are living in the times of the gentiles

    Romans 11:25 (NKJV)
For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.
Paul distinguished Israel & The Church as having 2 different destinies. Same covenant which came through the Cross, ( there is Only one way to be saved) but 2 destinies.

    The Return of The King

When Jesus returns He will fulfill the Davidic covenant that God made with King David during his reign.
2 Samuel 7:8–13 Now therefore, thus shall you say to My servant David, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: “I took you from the sheepfold, from following the sheep, to be ruler over My people, over Israel. And I have been with you wherever you have gone, and have cut off all your enemies from before you, and have made you a great name, like the name of the great men who are on the earth. Moreover I will appoint a place for My people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own and move no more; nor shall the sons of wickedness oppress them anymore, as previously, since the time that I commanded judges to be over My people Israel, and have caused you to rest from all your enemies. Also the Lord tells you that He will make you a house. “When your days are fulfilled and you rest with your fathers, I will set up your seed after you, who will come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.

When Jesus returns who is He returing with to establish His Kingdom?

    Jesus is returning with Church
    Zechariah 14:5 NKJV
Then you shall flee through My mountain valley, For the mountain valley shall reach to Azal. Yes, you shall flee As you fled from the earthquake In the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Thus the Lord my God will come, And all the saints with You.
Jude 14 Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints,
    Revelation 19:11–16 (NKJV)
Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses. Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS
Revelation 1:5–6 :and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

The saints rule & reign with Christ

The sheep will be ushered into the kingdom to share in Christ’s glory. The church will be reigning with Christ, and Israel will enjoy the fulfillment of the promises made through the prophets. All of creation will share in the glorious liberty of God’s children (Rom. 8:19–21). Jesus Christ will rule from David’s throne in Jerusalem (Luke 1:30–33), and peace will reign for 1,000 years (Isa. 11).
As we look back over the Olivet Discourse which is Mathew 24 we want to take note of several things. To begin with, God is not finished with the people & nation of Israel. Jesus made it clear in this sermon that Israel would be purified and brought to faith in the Messiah. God has not cast away His people.

For the gifts of God are without repentance.

Romans 11:28–33 Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers. For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. For as you were once disobedient to God, yet have now obtained mercy through their disobedience, even so these also have now been disobedient, that through the mercy shown you they also may obtain mercy. For God has committed them all to disobedience, that He might have mercy on all. Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!
