    Galatians 5:1 ESV
For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.
This nation began with a sense of gratitude to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. It began out of a heart of thanksgiving for the salvation that came to all mankind through the Jewish Messiah Jesus Christ. Our nation was birthed out of, not just a rebellion against tyranny, but a great appreciation for the liberties given to free men to worship the God of all creation.
Freedom is a Biblical concept. Man, left to his sinful self is taken captive by the depravity and wickedness of his own human heart to his own destruction. Even the idea of freedom to reject religion or develop his own ideas of religion are concepts found only in the Biblical principle of liberty.
From Genesis, God gave Adam and Eve the chance to choose freedom or to be taken captive by depravity. Again, we see this in Noah’s day and with Israel time and time again. Throughout history, man collectively chooses his own power that ends in wickedness rather than submit to the authority of God that brings true freedom.
Throughout the Scriptures we see Israel abuse and lose the liberty God grants them. Each time it is a slow fade to godlessness and utter lawlessness.
Our nation is no exception. This nation began with a people who believed in the Messiah Jesus Christ. They sought to live holy lives in honor of Adonai. Many of them spoke Hebrew. They celebrated Sukkot סוכות (Feast of Tabernacles). In fact, we were one vote away from being a Hebrew speaking nation. They did not come killing the Native Americans. They saw them as a spiritual mission to share the Good News of Jesus Christ. They celebrated Sukkot with them in honor to Adonai.
But given time, wicked men would follow who sought a different agenda of greed and power. At one point, Christians built schools where the Bible was the main text. I could on through a history lesson and reveal all of the Judeo-Christian roots. But the point is that we have so lost our way as a nation and what once was Christianity that followed the Christ. The degrees of change have taken hundreds of years which is a drop in the bucket compared to other nations and societies throughout world history. At that rate, and the course our nation is on, where and what will we be in the next fifty to one hundred years?
    Galatians 5:7 ESV
You were running well. Who hindered you from obeying the truth?
We see a similar question in Genesis:
    Genesis 3:9 ESV
But the Lord God called to the man and said to him, “Where are you?”
Along side the degradation of a nation, we see the same with what we call corporately the church. From its early conception, following the resurrection of Christ and the persecution of the saints, the church was transformed by politics of the kingdoms and religious idolatry of men hungry for control. Religion and politics became a collaborative weapon to control the masses and rob them of their God given liberties. Even in our day, we have left the sound Biblical principles of Scriptures. Scripture has been tainted and manipulated to fit agendas of men. Demons have propagated doctrines to generations deceiving and drawing people away from a relationship with God and the call of Christ Jesus to holiness. Ethical compromise of Christ’s standards of righteousness is the new cultural Christianity.
    1 Timothy 6:9–12 ESV
But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs. But as for you, O man of God, flee these things. Pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
Through the ages, there have been good men and women who gave their life to defend true Biblical faith and freedom. Throughout history, the average American soldier did not join and sacrifice for his or her politics but for principles they held to be founded on truth. Like many soldiers I led, I did not serve based on some political agenda but because I felt an obligation to serve and defend our way of life and that way was liberty, freedom, as defined by the Christian faith.
But church, can I tell you that even in the face of worldwide conspiracies and ideologies seeking to gain power to control and enslave either through politics or religion, there is a great hope. That same hope in Jesus Christ that raised Him from the dead; that same hope that was poured out on men and women of all nations and tongues; that same hope that caused the Early Church to supernaturally increase while facing global persecution; that same hope is moving across our nation among another generation that is looking for real truth and life that transforms. And we need to be ready to receive them, not deceive them. We need to be ready to love them, not shove them out. We need to be a church ready to disciple them not destroy the desire to know truth that has been awakened by the power of the Holy Spirit. Only a Holy Spirit filled church can embrace a Holy Spirit move of God.
    Joel 2:28 ESV
“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions.”
    Isaiah 43:19 ESV
Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
There is a transformation taking place. Do not look to this nation or that. For you will not perceive it in your politics and religions. You will not perceive it in the flesh. But the nation that God is moving with is the “geNerATIONS”. God is moving among His nation, His Kingdom people, His Bride, His church. It is interesting that the word ge גֵּא in Hebrew means to be haughty but the word er עֵר means to be watchful. Let us be the watchful generation discerning the times and not the haughty generation against God.
    2 Corinthians 3:18 ESV
And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
It is a powerful message from God to us today that reveals the intent of God and explains why the attacks of the enemies of God. The word “generations” in Hebrew is towledah תּוֹלְדָה which means families and history. The stronger family of God we are the greater the impact God can make on history through us. Throughout Scripture, we have the greatest and most incredible family history. From Adam and Abraham to Moses and the Christ, there is no family history like ours. Let us be a transformed people that God forms into a great family.
