- What does God say about fear?
Psalm 56:11 ESV in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can man do to me?Isaiah 41:10 ESV fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.Matthew 10:29–31 ESV Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows. Both fear and failure come to meet their opposite in what the Lord calls us to in faith. Two aspects:Trust - believingLiving - Acting on it, following up.Trust and Obedience are worked in us by God’s grace.Galatians 2:20 ESV I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.We are constantly reminded of fear and failure. The Light of God’s grace allows us to go from distress all the way to worship, and from despair all the way to thanksgiving.Psalm 118:1–4 ESV Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever! It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes.Psalm 20:7 ESV Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.Wrong Turn that Started World War ISerbian Nationalists were attempting to Assassinate Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austro-Hungarian EmpireA bomb thrown and bounced off his carTheir first attempt failed, and the archduke ordered a different return route be takenCommunication failed, and the driver turned down a side street that was on the original route.
