Greeting: The grace and peace of our Triune God be with you all!

Prelude: Psalm 34 (Shane & Shane)

Prayer of Invocation

Call to Worship: Psalm 96

Leader: Oh sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth! Sing to the LORD, bless his name; tell of his salvation from day to day. Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples!

People: For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; he is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols, but the LORD made the heavens.

Leader: Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and beauty are in his sanctuary. Ascribe to the LORD, O families of the peoples, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength! Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; bring an offering, and come into his courts! Worship the LORD in the splendor of holiness; tremble before him, all the earth!

ALL: Say among the nations, “The LORD reigns! Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved; he will judge the peoples with equity.”

Hymn: How Great Thou Art

First Reading: Psalm 1:12

Song: How Great Is Our God (iSing Worship)

The splendor of a King; Clothed in majesty

Let all the earth rejoice; All the earth rejoice

He wraps himself in Light; And darkness tries to hide

And trembles at His voice; Trembles at His voice

Chorus: How great is our God; Sing with me How great is our God,

And all will see how great; How great is our God

And age to age He stands; And time is in His hands

Beginning and the end; Beginning and the end

The Godhead Three in One; Father, Spirit, Son

The Lion and the Lamb; The Lion and the Lamb

Chorus (2X)

Refrain (2X): Name above all names; Worthy of all praise

My heart will sing; How great is our God!

Chorus

Confession of Sin: 1 Pet 2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

Question for Reflection: Do I share the excellencies of the gospel with others, or do I allow fear, apathy, or spiritual lethargy to silence me?

Silent Confession/Corporate Confession of Sin: O Lord, by your sovereign grace you have made us your own possession and call us to boldly share the gospel with others. Yet, we confess that we have not been faithful witnesses for you. Forgive us as we turn from our sin and rest in the forgiveness that we have in Christ who bore our sins on the cross. Fill us anew with your Holy Spirit and empower us to faithfully and boldly declare the good news of the gospel with the people that you put in our lives. In Christ’s name we pray. Amen.

Assurance of Pardon: Titus 3:4-7 But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Leader: Brothers and sisters, this is the Gospel!

People: Thanks be to God!

Affirmation of Faith: The Apostles Creed: I believe in God, the Father Almighty, the Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord: Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell.1The third day He arose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church;2 the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

Second Reading: Luke 1:46-56

Song: Good and Gracious King (CityAlight)

I approach the throne of glory, Nothing in my hands I bring

But the promise of acceptance, From a good and gracious King

I will give to You my burden, As You give to me Your strength

Come and fill me with Your Spirit, As I sing to You this praise

You deserve the greater glory Overcome, I lift my voice

To the King in need of nothing, Empty handed I rejoice

You deserve the greater glory, Overcome with joy I sing

By Your love I am accepted, You're a good and gracious King

O what grace that You would see me, As Your child and as Your friend

Safe, secure in You forever, I pour out my praise again

You deserve the greater glory, Overcome, I lift my voice

To the King in need of nothing, Empty handed I rejoice

You deserve the greater glory, Overcome with joy I sing

By Your love I am accepted, You're a good and gracious King

Holy, holy, Lord Almighty, Good and gracious, Good and gracious

Holy, holy, Lord Almighty, Good and gracious King (2X)

Good and gracious King, You deserve the greater glory

Overcome, I lift my voice, To the King in need of nothing

Empty handed I rejoice, You deserve the greater glory

Overcome with joy I sing, By Your love I am accepted

You're a good and gracious King (3X)

Congregational Prayers:

The Lord’s Prayer: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
