Grace to you, and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. AMEN.
The Call to Worship
2 Thessalonians 2:13-14
God chose you from the beginning to be saved, through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth. To this he called you through our gospel, so that you may obtain the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The Ascription of Praise
from 1 Timothy
Great indeed is the mystery of godliness: Jesus the Christ was manifested in the flesh, vindicated by the Spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.
To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honor and glory forever and ever. AMEN.
The Prayer of Adoration
The First Reading
The Call to Confession
Romans 5:8; Hebrews 4:26
While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
The Silent Confession of Sin
The Corporate Confession of Sin, minister only
Lord our God, you have delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the Kingdom of your beloved Son Jesus Christ, the Redeemer and Savior, in whom we have been adopted as your children and made co-heirs with him. You have given us the Law of Moses and the instruction and example of Jesus, the perfect man, to direct us in the way of life. You have poured your Spirit, the Spirit of life, into our hearts to set us free from the law of sin and death. Yet, most merciful Father, we confess that the way of death so often has a strange and strong attraction for us, and we so often give in to that attraction. Forgive us, we beseech you. Have mercy on us, we pray. And, as in Christ you have given is the ability to walk in your way, strengthen in us also the will, the vision, and the courage to choose life and blessing. For Jesus’ sake we pray. AMEN.
The Assurance of Pardon
Jesus says, Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
The Question for Reflection
How are we to respond to God’s gracious forgiveness and love to us?
The First Table of the Law
And God spoke all these words, saying, I am the Lord thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Thou shalt not make unto thee a graven image.
Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.
Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
The Prayer of Commitment
The Second Table of the Law
Honor thy father and thy mother.
Thou shalt not murder.
Thou shalt not commit adultery.
Thou shalt not steal.
Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.
Thou shalt not covet.
The Psalm, 1 [To Amazing Grace]
That man is blest who, fearing God,
walks not where sinners meet,
who does not stand with wicked ones,
and shuns the scorners’ seat.
How blest the one who in God’s law
finds goodness and delight,
and meditates upon that law
with gladness day and night.
That one is nourished like a tree
set by the river’s side;
its leaf is green, its fruit is sure:
the works of such a bide.
The wicked, like the driven chaff,
are swept from off the land;
they shall not gather with the just,
nor in the judgment stand.
The Lord will guard the righteous well,
their way to him is known;
the way of sinners, far from God,
shall surely be o’erthrown
The Congregational Prayers
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: for Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. AMEN.

The Confession of our Faith
The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God the Father, Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord: Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost; Born of the Virgin Mary; Suffered under Pontius Pilate; Was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; The third day he rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven; And sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost; The holy catholic Church; The communion of saints; The forgiveness of sins; The resurrection of the body; And the life everlasting. AMEN.
You were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. The peace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
