ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL 6 WEEK STUDY: “Reconciled: A Biblical Approach to Racial Unity.” This fall Elaine is going to lead a 6-week study for adults or interested teens that searches Scripture for answers on how to address struggles related to ethnic disunity in the world and in the church. The curriculum is supplied by the Center for Biblical Unity. Here is the website and source: Reconciled: Small Group Curriculum (centerforbiblicalunity.com), if you are curious about the topic and wondering if this study might be something for you to join. Class specifics will depend a little on the wishes of those who sign up, but it will be Sunday evening sessions, due to Elaine’s availability; 5:00 pm seems likely. Targeted dates are: Sept. 12, 19; Oct. 3, 10, 17, 26. If it takes more than 6 weeks, we’ll add more time. (If another group wishes to participate but desires the Sunday School hour before 10:00 am worship, perhaps there can be a second offering of the same study with a different facilitator.) You may sign up on the library table or contact Elaine directly.

PLEASE REMEMBER our students and teachers as they return to college, high school and elementary school.

NOTES FROM THE ADMIN TEAM AND COUNCIL:

• We continue to anticipate the arrival of the Boonstras as they wait for a truck to deliver their belongings to Lynden. Please pray that a truck will be available soon. Thank you to everyone who has helped prepare the parsonage and we will inform the congregation if assistance is needed to move them in.

• We discussed building and grounds needs with Marv and Karen Apol. We are thankful for their many years of service to Bethel and for how they and others keep our church in great shape. Occasionally extra hands are needed and if you are willing to help, let them know!

• We also met with Mary Kok, who along with her team of volunteers, are planning for future activities. We are thankful for their work and look forward to these fellowship opportunities!

• The full Council met and approved the Pastor Search Team’s Church Profile. The profile will be used to inform prospective pastors about Bethel and will be made available to the congregation soon.
