HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Arlen De Young who will celebrate his 80th birthday on Wednesday, May 25 and to LeRoy Van Beek who will celebrate his 82nd birthday on Friday, May 27!


CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR GRADUATES: Bethany Ball, Jake De Young and Eric Steiger, college; Becca Ball, Sam Hiemstra and Kenna Van Dalen, high school; Katie Hiemstra, Logan Van Dalen, eighth grade. 


FAREWELL to Mary Kok whose last Sunday in Bethel is today. We are grateful to Mary for serving on the Hospitality Committee and the many church picnics, potlucks, and coffee hours she helped coordinate and assist with.   


FROM THE COUNCIL:

• Pray for Erika Kean who is now receiving care at Orchard Park in Bellingham. 

• Give thanks that our children can receive a Christian education at Lynden Christian, Ebenezer or through home schooling. We pray that the final few weeks go well. 

• Pray for the agriculture workers as the contend with a cooler spring and that their work may be productive with the delayed season.  

• Pray for: Keith and Pam Korthuis; Adrian and Marilyn Kooiman; Marv and Karen Apol; Dick and Carol Drost.  

TODAY we welcome Kings Men of Song. Next week our service will be led by Pastor Don Recker.   


TODAY’S OFFERING will be for the parsonage refresh and moving expenses, estimated to be $20,000.   


CONGREGATIONAL MEETING: The 2022-2023 budget passed, and the following were selected: Shepherding Elder—Vern Meenderinck; Service Deacon—Carol De Young and Howard Nunnikhoven. Thank you to Marv Apol, Dennis Bosman, Mark De Jong, Jerry Meenderinck and Todd Rutgers for agreeing to have their name on the ballot. 


VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: A sign-up sheet is on the library table if you can help with the final tasks to be completed in the parsonage (such as painting, cleaning and organizing a grocery shower) as we anticipate the Dicks arrival the end of June. 


OUR SEARCH COMMITTEE met for the last time. A letter from the committee is in your church mailbox today and was also sent via the weekly email on Friday. Thank you to each member.  


CHURCH CAMPOUT at Bryce Creek, Sumas, August 26-28. Everyone is invited to come during the day and/or evening and join those who are camping. We plan on having lots of fun and good fellowship! More details and sign-up sheets will be coming soon. Any questions, call Tim and Tammy Holleman.
