WE EXPRESS our Christian sympathy to Gerrit Van Andel and Doug and Norene Van Andel in the passing of Marie this past Monday. A private family service was held at Monumenta Cemetery yesterday.
PLEASE PRAY for Cheryl Marston as she goes through a difficult time in her cancer journey.
BIRTHDAY BLESSINGS to Gene Greenough who will celebrate his 82nd birthday on Wednesday, October 7!
NEW EMAIL: Please note David Wadleigh’s new email address in the printed bulletin.
SUNDAY AFTERNOON BIBLE STUDY: You are welcome and encouraged to join the Bible study on the book of James led by Pastor Steve today at 4 pm in the basement. The group will meet every other week.
GEMS: All girls in grades 2-8 are invited to our SOCK HOP KICK-OFF EVENT tomorrow, October 5 from 7-8:30 pm, in the Bethel basement. Please have fun dressing up in 50's-style clothing and join us for games, snacks, and fun fellowship! We will follow all guidelines for church meetings: masks are required, we will maintain social distancing, we will take temperatures of everyone entering the building, and will ask you to stay home if you are sick or if you have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19. Parents of past GEMS have received an email with more details, registration forms, and a calendar. Please let Julie Ball know if you did not receive this or if you have any questions or concerns. You may also invite friends! We can have up to 20 more girls and still be under the 25 percent capacity for the basement. We are so excited to see you at GEMS!
GEMS: Pillows and blankets from our “hangout space” last year are in the basement sitting on the bench. Please pick yours up and take them home.
THURSDAY LADIES BIBLE STUDY will begin this week via Zoom. We will continue our study in the book of Psalms. Please let Norene know if you wish to join our group!
CONGREGATIONAL MEETING: You are encouraged to attend the congregational meeting at 7pm on Tuesday, Oct. 13 where we will vote on the Restructuring Proposal. Information on the proposal and restructuring was sent out last week. Absentee ballots are also available.
THANK YOU: The deacons gratefully acknowledge a gift from the Harry Van Dyke estate. The gift will be put in the Legacy/Building Fund for future renovations.
CHURCH DIRECTORY UPDATE: Revisions and updates for the church directory are planned. Information may be emailed to the church office or written on a paper that is on the library table.
CLASSIS NORTH CASCADES will meet on Thursday at First CRC. Together with Pastor Steve our delegates are Ed Ball and Ken Vander Veen.
