WE EXTEND OUR SYMPATHY to Vern and Jennie Meenderinck in the passing of Jennie’s mother, Rena Wester, on Monday.

DEAR BETHEL FAMILY: The Koeman family wishes to extend their gratitude for your noted love and support these past weeks. We are grateful for the love of God we experienced through you, the people of God.

CHANGE OF ADDRESS: Please note Jeanne Meenderinck’s new address is in the printed bulletin. Her phone number is the same.

TONIGHT we will have a combined service at Second CRC at 6PM. Pastor Kyle Kloostra, senior pastor at Sonlight CRC, will lead us in worship. The offering will be for Church on the Ave., a Christian Reformed congregation being planted in Seattle’s University District.

REMINDER: Sunday School begins next Sunday, September 9. K-6 will meet in the basement for singing before dismissing to their individual classes and 7-12 will meet in their assigned classrooms. A letter with more specific information for parents about the class, teacher, contact information, room assignment, etc. has been placed in your mailbox. If you have any questions, please contact Glenda. A heartfelt thanks to all the teachers/leaders who are returning: Dee Hiemstra (K-1), Marcia Mulder (2-3), Sally Korthuis (4-6), Don Korthuis (7-8), Pastor Steve (9-10), Yuanita (11-12), Amy Vandenberg (praise leader for K-6) and Jackie Van Dalen (accompanist).

LUNCH ON THE LAWN will be next week, Sept. 9. Pulled pork and beverages will be provided. Please bring a salad or dessert and lawn chairs.

SHINE: We will start our year with a Slip and Slide night at the Hollemans this Wednesday. You can go straight to their house or you can gather at the church’s parking lot at 6:45 pm. Please wear something that you can get wet in (no white shirts please). Also, don’t forget your towel. This event is great opportunity to invite your friends. If you have not returned the parental permission form, please bring it with you that night. For more information, contact Yuanita.

FORMS: Youth Participation and Publication Consent forms are needed for each child/youth participating in Sunday School, nursery, and other youth activities. These forms must be filled in each year, and a separate form is needed for each child. Please turn in completed forms on the library table by September 3 (tomorrow). If you need additional forms, contact Yuanita.

ATTENTION BETHEL MEN: The Tuesday morning Men’s Bible Study is inviting all Bethel men to join them as they begin a new season. No more excuses! It is time to listen to that little voice in your head that keeps telling you to get involved and join a Bible study. No books to read, no preparation, all you do is just show up and contribute as you wish. Generally we read our passage, discuss the guide questions and ask ourselves how God’s word is applicable to our lives here in Lynden. We close in prayer and are out the door by 7:30 AM. We begin at 6:30 AM, Tuesday, Sept. 11. Hope to see you there!

MOM’S TIME OUT is always looking for more volunteers! There are many places you can serve. We would love more full-time helpers in the nursery or in the Story Time class. We also would love to have a group of women willing to be on a sub list. We are also looking for women in our church willing to share and demonstrate a God-given gift you have with our moms. We would love to brainstorm if you have an idea. There is a sign-up sheet on the library table or contact Dee, Mandy, Carissa or Marcia for more information.

FALL SCHEDULES NEEDED: Please email the fall schedules for Bible studies, GEMS, SHINE, Cadets, etc. to the church office so they can be included in the weekly calendar at the appropriate time. Thank you.
