- A modified 2025 Bible Reading Plan is reposted (there was an error in the first). If you have already "connected" to it, please resubscribe. Sorry for the inconvenience. This new schedule is based on Navigators Discipleship Journal, with 4 readings a day for 25 days. However, our schedule will have readings Mon-Sat. If you follow this schedule, you will actually complete it by Dec 16. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask. Looking forward to this journey together!
- Last week, we read in John 7, when Jesus’ brothers encouraged Jesus to go to Jerusalem for a festival. Jesus said he would not go but then he ended up going. Did he lie? Here is a helpful article, written by Jim Hamilton, investigating this question. https://www.crossway.org/articles/did-jesus-lie-to-his-brothers-john-7/Did Jesus Lie to His Brothers? (John 7)In John 7 Jesus tells his brothers he is not going to the Feast of Booths, but then he does. We must understand what the brothers are suggesting here and what Jesus is saying he is not going to do.www.crossway.org
- A few days ago, our Bible reading schedule took us to Mark 2:23-28. One of my professors from seminary wrote a thoughtful and helpful article entitled, “Why Did Jesus Say the Wrong Name?” I would commend it to you. https://open.substack.com/pub/matthewwesterholm/p/why-did-jesus-say-the-wrong-name?r=2t2dq0&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=email
- Waiting in expectation for Jesus! "We're almost home, we're almost home so press on toward the blessed shore Oh praise the Lord! We're almost home!"
- Yes! 🙌
- Keep your eyes open for Jesus. You'll see Him!
- I am a day behind, but in yesterday's reading one could ask, "how is it possible that a people who are not God's people become God's people?" (Isaiah 19:25)
- Meditate today on this precious reality that "My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth." (Psalm 120:2) What do you need help with today? Why is it significant that immediately on the heels of the psalmist talking about where his help comes from, the focus shifts to what God did in creation?
- If God can create, can he not help me?
