- June 19, 2018 Above The Problem Ever wondered exactly why you deal with everything you deal with? Trust me, millions of people have thought this at least once over the course of their life. Only a fraction of these millions of people truly understand the reasons for why they go through what they go through. Ultimately, the answer comes down to sin that Adam and Eve allowed to enter the world based off of the bad decision made in the garden. This poor decision making demonstrates just how important it is that we make the right choices when faced with situations that can alter the world around us. There’s a quote that says life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to what happens. Yet we use that 90% to complain, be ineffective when faced with problems, and make even more poor decisions based off a number factors. What if though for EVERY situation that arose, we chose the path least traveled? For example, what if Abraham told the truth to Pharaoh? (Gen. 12:10-20) What if he never slept with Hagar and causing Ishmael to be born? (Gen. 16) What if Lot chose to run with the culture of his time? (Gen. 19:1-28) What if Moses chose to stay in Egypt? (Exodus 2:11-15) What if Paul and Silas chose to simply give up? (Acts 16:16-40) What if Jesus saw our sin and never chose to redeem us? These few examples paint a picture, that if these individuals chose to do the opposite of what is recorded the ripple effect it would have on us today would be astronomically different! But, put yourself in the decision making hot seat, for a second and what if for every problem you ever faced in life you chose to trust God and not lean on your own understanding? There’s a reason Jesus offered up His spirit for us, and that is so that we would have the strength to be above every problem as He is! Jesus looks at situations in our lives as completed victories before they even arise, and yet we can’t seem to get pass how someone did us wrong, or how much money we don’t have, or how we’re in so much pain we identify with our pain rather than the God that can deliver us from our pain. If you didn’t see it as necessarily important before, now is the time to change the scope of your perspective and rather then looking up at your problem as if you can’t face it, rise above your problem looking down on it with faith and grace that was granted and claim victory! James 1:12, “Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.” ~ Minister Poet ~
