OCTOBER NEWSLETTER AND FRIDAY BUMC eBLAST for October 1
New Children's Ministry Coordinator
The Staff Parish Relations Committee is pleased to announce that Whitney Wright has been hired as BUMC's Children's Ministry Coordinator. Whitney is a name that you may recognize for she has been a part of BUMC all of her life. Growing up here as a child she went to Sunday School here, and later as a teen, she was very active in the church's youth group. After high school, she attended Shenandoah University and will graduate this December with a bachelor's in Religion and a Certificate of Christain Leadership.
Whitney's winsome personality and youthful energy will bring new vigor to BUMC in sharing the gospel of Jesus with our children. She will be working with our Children's Ministry team starting in October on the weekends only while she finishes up her studies. The training that she has received at Shenandoah University, a United Methodist-related university, will be of great value to this church as she continues in ministry here at Bridgewater United Methodist Church.

BABY HOPE - Thank you for your contributions.
Thank you for all your generous contributions to Baby Hope.
Many families in the Harrisonburg-Rockingham Community need support as they welcome a new child in their family. Hope Distributed is lending a helping hand through a new program called "Baby Hope" which will provide much needed baby items to these families.
Hope Distributed is a local non-profit which focuses on helping those in financial need in our community. In 2000, they gave out 1.2 million pounds of food, 33,000 clothing outfits, and furnished homes for 46 individuals and families.
The Faith Bible Sunday School Class will be coordinating the collection of the following items from our church to be donated to Hope Distributed for local families:
Diaper Rash Cream
Baby wash cloths and towels
We will collect these items through October 10th. Donations may be left in the box in the hallway to the sanctuary or in the Faith Bible classroom downstairs. If you prefer to have someone else shop for you, please give your monetary donation to any member of the Faith Bible Class, and we'll take care of the shopping.
We appreciate your help in providing these baby supplies to our local families in need. If you have questions, please call Sara Walton at 820-5641. Thank you!
