September 19, 2021                                                Matthew 11:28-30

Hope For The Weary

I.         Jesus ____________ you to find _________ in Him.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

                                                                                                            Matthew 11:28

The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to Him all they had done

and taught.  Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, He said to them, “Come with Me

by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest."                 Mark 6:30-31

II.        Jesus ______________ you to _________ with Him.

Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in

heart, and you will find rest for your souls.                           Matthew 11:29

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.  Stand firm, then, and do not

let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.         Galatians 5:1

III.       Jesus _____________ you to __________ His hope.

For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.                       Matthew 11:30

Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

                                                                                                          Galatians 6:2

NEXT STEPS

1.       Allow Jesus to unpack your life so you can get off

the treadmill and find some rest for your soul. He         loves when we are honest with Him about feeling

weary and burdened. Jesus gives us permission to

say No to even what appear to be good things.

2.       Allow Jesus to fit you with relationship yoke so that

you can experience for yourself His gentleness and

humbleness. Lasting rest and freedom is only found

in Jesus. So, don’t waste your time or energy on any

one or anything that causes you to feel hopeless.

3.       Allow Jesus to show you what real hope looks like

as you partner with Him for all of life not just when

you feel like it. Also, recognize that God has put His

church in your life to help carry your burdens and

for you to do likewise being motivated by His love.

The excitement is building. Be a part of the excitement while we create a whole new look for the foyer!

Please pardon our appearance during this transformation.

Reminder:

-Nursery is for age 3 and under only. Children over 3 are welcome to attend Jr Church. Those 7th grade and older can remain in sanctuary.

-Secretary’s office is closed Sunday. Only admittance is to staff and board members. This allows for a quiet area for those who are counting offering.

Senior Citizens Group will meet Tuesday, September 21st at 11:30 am at the Parlor House.

Budget & 1st quarter General Fund are available in the foyer.

How to Give Online

We encourage you to begin giving through our new online giving platform, Faithlife Giving. It’s easy to make one-time and recurring gifts, plus view your giving history.

Simply go to www.bluerockchurch.org and click ‘giving’ in the top right corner of the webpage.

or text “Give” with the amount (e.g. “Give $50”) to 717-200-4911 and follow the prompts. For a recurring gift, you’ll need to create a Faithlife account so you can keep track of your giving methods.

Please contact the church office if you have any questions. Thank you for being part of what God is doing at Blue Rock Church!

We are looking for Greeters for Sunday mornings.

Greeters will look a little different then in the past.

A Greeter's description is:

1. Create a welcoming environment.

2. Offer coffee and make connections.

Greeters offer guests coffee and make connections.

3. Make introductions.

Greeters introduce the guests to the teacher/leader of small groups and Sunday School Classes. It’s helpful if the greeter and group members are wearing name tags.

4. Provide Welcome packet materials.

These are located on the Welcome Center stand along with a bulletin

5. Introduce the pastor.

Before or after the worship service the greeter introduces the guests to the pastor and other staff members as appropriate. Our pastor and staff really appreciate this because it makes follow-up on their part much easier as they can now place a name and face. Greeters can be some of the most important people to Blue Rock!!

See Stephanie Doell if interested-bluerockstephanie@gmail.com.

There is a sign-up sheet on bulletin board outside office.
