September 26, 2021                                                              John 8:1-8

Hope For The Broken

I.         Jesus ____________ all who _________ close.

But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.  At dawn He appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around Him, and he sat

down to teach them.                                                                    John 8:1-2

The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery.  They made her stand before the group and said to Jesus, "Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery.  In the Law

Moses commanded us to stone such women.  Now what do you say?"

John 8:3-5

II.        Jesus ____________ all of our _______________.

They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing Him.  But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground

with His finger.  When they kept on questioning Him, He straightened up and said to them, “If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to

throw a stone at her."                                                                  John 8:6-7

Again He stooped down and wrote on the ground.  At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus

was left, with the woman still standing there.                  John 8:8-9

III.       Jesus ___________ to ________ all of the broken.

Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they?  Has no

one condemned you?"                                                                John 8:10

"No one, sir,” she said.  "Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared.

"Go now and leave your life of sin."                                     John 8:11

NEXT STEPS

1.       Come to Jesus and let Him teach you about being

broken. Sit down beside Him by reading the Bible

and listening in prayer to what He says about you.

Learn regularly with His supportive Church family.

2.       Let Him expose any sin that is in your heart so that

you can be forgiven. Allow Jesus to ask you tough

questions that may reveal hidden sins like grudges.

Stick with Jesus constantly instead of walking away.

3.       Fully accept the repairs that Jesus wants to do in

you. Release any condemning thoughts and accept

His forgiveness. Then, walk by faith along with us.

For, we are all broken vessels that God is fixing too.

I want to thank everyone for their prayers, calls, cards etc while Larry and I were hospitalized. I was discharged on my birthday (9/17) and that was a great birthday present. Larry had to have stents placed and I was diagnosed with A-Fib. We're both getting along ok and hope to be back to church soon. Polly Shifflett
