• 2020 Letter to Church

    Dear Cherry Hill Family,

Thank you for your continued support as we lift up the name of Jesus Christ and proclaim the rest that all can have within Him. Your giving has provided a unique avenue for sharing that message, not just on Sunday mornings, but all throughout the week.

We believe that the most effective and authentic way of sharing the love of Jesus is through personal relationships. Cherry Hill is a place that is open all through the week for the sole purpose of interacting with people, getting to know their name and their story, and sharing in their life experiences. Our prayer is that out of those simple interactions spiritual questions can be answered, needs can be met, and lives changed.

Our church members have the opportunity to come throughout the week to hang out, help in this work, ask questions, deepen relationships and, of course, to eat ice cream! Over the past year, many from the community have come frequently for coffee or ice cream. Slowly they became comfortable in our space and started to get to know many from our Cherry Hill family. When several of our “regulars” have experienced a crisis in their life, the first place they ran to was Cherry Hill. They sought comfort, hope, answers and they knew where to turn.

Cherry Hill has also been used for counseling sessions, Bible studies, homeschool educational development, weddings, community meetings and events, and a place for meeting old friends and finding new ones.

In this unprecedented time in which we find ourselves it is increasingly important, not only to share the message of Jesus in our Sunday services, but also to engage in personal relationships. There are many toxic relationships that occur on social media. Many people feel alone, and anxiety is high every time people watch TV or other media outlets. People are concerned about the state of our country, health issues, and family relationships and often just need a human contact in a community setting. Fear, Depression, Discouragement, Frustration…All this can be overcome in Jesus Christ. Your participation and giving helps to provide a space where personal, interactive relationships can be developed and the hope that is found only in Jesus can be shared.

We believe places like Cherry Hill, that are personal and interactive, are going to be increasingly important in the upcoming days. A place to comfort the souls of those hurting of both believers and unbelievers. Thank you so much for joining together to create a Place to Find Rest.

    Looking to 2021

The Ice Cream and Coffee House ministry was busy in the summer and fall and we were able to build a little financial reserve for the winter. That reserve is being consumed in the winter months as the sales are not covering the expenses. Our goal is to build relationships and so we are committed to maintain a consistent and robust hours of operation. We are seeing God do amazing things as our Church family is simply showing up and “being there”.

Thanks to a year-end pledge we just began work on a much needed $5000 acoustic renovation of our space. This will help with Sunday Morning Worship, daily conversations, and groups using our space. We have many opportunities to address in this coming year and we will continue to rest in God’s provision to provide.

We were able to get all that we needed to open and operate Cherry Hill in 2020 and are very thankful. As typical with starting something new, funds were limited, and we sometimes had to “make do” with starter equipment and prioritize needs. For example. our microphone system for Sunday morning was $198….it was a great deal and got us by, but it sounds like a $198 system. Below are some of our upcoming projects in 2021:

    ·      Online Streaming Equipment and personnel

    ·      Appropriate Espresso Machine

    ·      Painting outside of building

    ·      Update Sign on Building

    ·      Patio Awning and Upgrade

    ·      A fund for future Sunday morning meeting space

If you have any questions, please feel free to stop by Cherry Hill and see me. I am always happy to answer any of your questions. I am usually at Cherry Hill during these times:
