  • 1. Church is a Family not an organization.

    Malachi 2:10 NKJV
    10 Have we not all one Father? Has not one God created us? Why do we deal treacherously with one another By profaning the covenant of the fathers?

    a. Just as you where born into your family of origin, you are born again into the Church.

    John 3:5–6 NKJV
    5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

    b. When you where born again the old man died so that the new man can rise.

    Romans 6:3 NKJV
    3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death?
    Romans 6:6 NKJV
    6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.
    2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV
    17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
    Galatians 6:15 NKJV
    15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation.

    c. Born again people bear the fruit of repentance.

    Luke 3:8 NKJV
    8 Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.
    Matthew 5:16 NKJV
    16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
    1 Peter 2:12 NKJV
    12 having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by your good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation.

    2. The Church has a family Structure.

    1 Corinthians 4:15 NKJV
    15 For though you might have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet you do not have many fathers; for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.

    a. The leadership God has given to you is under Christ.

    John 10:10–14 NKJV
    10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. 11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. 12 But a hireling, he who is not the shepherd, one who does not own the sheep, sees the wolf coming and leaves the sheep and flees; and the wolf catches the sheep and scatters them. 13 The hireling flees because he is a hireling and does not care about the sheep. 14 I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own.

    b. We that are called to shepherd the flock of God are under the chief shepherd.

    1 Peter 5:1–4 NKJV
    1 The elders who are among you I exhort, I who am a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that will be revealed: 2 Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly; 3 nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock; 4 and when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that does not fade away.

    C. You are called to let us lead!

    Hebrews 13:17 NKJV
    17 Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.

    3. God Placed you in the body as He saw fit.

    1 Corinthians 12:18 NKJV
    18 But now God has set the members, each one of them, in the body just as He pleased.

    a. Every Christian has gifts.

    1 Corinthians 12:4–7 NKJV
    4 There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all:

    b. Everyone has a part to play in the body…Everyone..

    c. The leadership team is here to equip you for your purpose both inside and outside the Church.

    since everyone has purpose, and leadership is here to equip you there is no need for jealousy.
