1 O Lord, do not rebuke me in Your wrath, Nor chasten me in Your hot displeasure! 2 For Your arrows pierce me deeply, And Your hand presses me down.
    Giving
    1 Chronicles 29:14 NKJV
14 But who am I, and who are my people, That we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from You, And of Your own we have given You.

    Kneeling or Noise

    Matthew 9:18–26 NKJV
18 While He spoke these things to them, behold, a ruler came and worshiped Him, saying, “My daughter has just died, but come and lay Your hand on her and she will live.” 19 So Jesus arose and followed him, and so did His disciples. 20 And suddenly, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment. 21 For she said to herself, “If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well.” 22 But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, “Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well.” And the woman was made well from that hour. 23 When Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw the flute players and the noisy crowd wailing, 24 He said to them, “Make room, for the girl is not dead, but sleeping.” And they ridiculed Him. 25 But when the crowd was put outside, He went in and took her by the hand, and the girl arose. 26 And the report of this went out into all that land.

    1. The Ruler came to worship.

    Matthew 9:18 NKJV
18 While He spoke these things to them, behold, a ruler came and worshiped Him, saying, “My daughter has just died, but come and lay Your hand on her and she will live.”
when the ruler came to worship he bowed down.
    Matthew 9:18 ESV
18 While he was saying these things to them, behold, a ruler came in and knelt before him, saying, “My daughter has just died, but come and lay your hand on her, and she will live.”
    Matthew 9:18 NASB95
18 While He was saying these things to them, a synagogue official came and bowed down before Him, and said, “My daughter has just died; but come and lay Your hand on her, and she will live.”
Notice that when the ruler came in The English Standard Version says that the Ruler Knelt.
the New American Standard Version says he bowed down before him.
the New King James version says He worshiped Him.
the other two versions talked about changing your posture.
there are times for all kinds of worship:
there is a time for shouting
there is a time for dancing
there is also a time to remember that He is the King of Kings and He is the Lord of Lords!
    Philippians 2:10–11 NKJV
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
whether its noise or kneeling only God knows.
He wont be your savior if He’s not your Lord.
Do we understand that we are subject to Jesus?

    2. What if my humble act of worship leads to someones healing?

    Matthew 9:19–22 NKJV
19 So Jesus arose and followed him, and so did His disciples. 20 And suddenly, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment. 21 For she said to herself, “If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well.” 22 But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, “Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well.” And the woman was made well from that hour.
in other gospels more detail is given to the healing of the woman with the issue of blood.
The ruler came to ask for healing but Jesus heals the woman with the issue of blood.
this proves that Jesus was concerned with the issue of blood, as concerned for the woman as she is with the rulers daughter.
    Romans 2:11 NKJV
11 For there is no partiality with God.
Jesus has already stated that he did not come for the well ...
    Matthew 9:12–13 NKJV
12 When Jesus heard that, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. 13 But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”
I am often beat with the verse when someone is trying to justify bad behavior.

    3. Lord Jesus dismisses the noise and wakes the Girl.

    Matthew 9:23–26 NKJV
23 When Jesus came into the ruler’s house, and saw the flute players and the noisy crowd wailing, 24 He said to them, “Make room, for the girl is not dead, but sleeping.” And they ridiculed Him. 25 But when the crowd was put outside, He went in and took her by the hand, and the girl arose. 26 And the report of this went out into all that land.
    Jesus Dismisses the noise.
i think we need to ask ourselves, have I given to the noise, and not to the kneeling.
sometimes we need to take a moment and kneel
