  • GREAT ARE YOU LORD
  • How Great is Our God
  • Genesis 1:22 NKJV
22 And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.”
    2 Thessalonians 3:10 NKJV
10 For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat.
    1 Thessalonians 4:11 NKJV
11 that you also aspire to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you,

    1. Being fruitful is how we are built.

    Genesis 1:22 NKJV
22 And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.”
Be fruitful is the first command that was given us by God the Father.
He would not have given us the command unless he enabled us to “be Fruitful”

You are called to bear Fruit.

Look at your neighbor and tell them, NEIGHBOR, I always thought you where a little fruity.
    Proverbs 6:6–11 NKJV
6 Go to the ant, you sluggard! Consider her ways and be wise, 7 Which, having no captain, Overseer or ruler, 8 Provides her supplies in the summer, And gathers her food in the harvest. 9 How long will you slumber, O sluggard? When will you rise from your sleep? 10 A little sleep, a little slumber, A little folding of the hands to sleep— 11 So shall your poverty come on you like a prowler, And your need like an armed man.
    Poverty comes on the fruitless!
I’m going to get in a little trouble here but I’m getting in trouble for the truth. there is a sense of entitlement that has grown now for decades in this nation.
as Christians we are called to work ( in whatever way we are built to do that). some work with tools and others work with other skills, but we are all called to bear the fruit of the seed we are given and not called or entitled to “just get a check.”
there are some people in this room that may need a check, and that’s fine but the idea that the government owes me a check is a slap in the face of God! Conversely, If you do need it, it is a great blessing! and you should receive it as such.
There is a difference between rest and being Idle.

    2. God called us to work!

    Colossians 3:23–24 NKJV
23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.
    Ecclesiastes 9:10 NKJV
10 Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going.
    Ephesians 4:28 NKJV
28 Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need.
    Proverbs 22:6 NKJV
6 Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it.
Since you are called to work, you are gifted to work. The Lord has embedded in your make up the ability to work.
there are several things that you can do to make a living for yourself and your family.
since you are called to work then what you do for a living is a spiritual matter is the same as it is financial matter.
God calls us to do three things with our work
He calls us to provide for our families. ( the same as ourselves.)
We are called to be prepared to give to those who are in need.
We are called to support our local Church and the kingdom.
