†Morning Invocation

What is an Invocation?

by Arrieanna Harmon

God of peace and hope, we are a nation of constant activity. Every source of media beckons us to go, see, do, or participate in some activity. But one of the most necessary activities, which we neglect, is our need for rest. We crowd each day, which has been given by you as a blessing, with busyness. We forget what it is like to sit and listen, to rest, to take time to reflect.

Help us to find the quiet moments in which our souls can be made whole again. We know that there will always be much for us to do to serve you in this world, but if we maintain this hectic pace, we will be unable to accomplish anything. Let us turn our concerns over to you, for you are the Master Healer who restores our souls. Help us to place our trust and our lives in your unending care. For we ask this in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

All: Amen.

Song of Adoration

"Thank You, Lord" UMH #84

Affirmation of Faith

What is The Apostles' Creed

I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.

Amen.

Gloria Patri*

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end.

Amen. Amen.
