The Flame of God
Introit
"We've Come to Praise Him" R. Smallwood
Leader: It is easy to stand here in the valley of our comfort.
People: We know what to expect and what is expected of us.
Leader: But Christ calls us to the mountain top to receive a new vision.
People: We are not sure we are ready for that.
Leader: Place your hope and trust in Christ, for He is your guide.
People: Let us open our hearts to Christ, ready for the vision he places before us. AMEN.
All: Thanks be to God. Amen.
God of history and hope, we come before you with a question that echoes through the ages: Where are the voices of your prophets? We are grateful for your ancient messengers—apostles, prophets, martyrs, and saints—whose faithful witness has stirred the hearts of generations. We thank you that in these last days, you have spoken to us definitively through your Son, Jesus, the radiance of your glory and the exact imprint of your nature.
Fill us with your Holy Spirit, so that we do not wait for a prophet to tell us what is right, but are transformed into your compassionate, justice-seeking image bearers. Make us agents of change in this world, giving us courage to speak and to teach others about your love for all people. And now, Lord, send us out into a world that needs your love through our hands. May we, the body of Christ, become the voice that announces your kingdom. Do not let us grow weary in doing good. Strengthen us, encourage us, and use us for your glory. In the name of the One who was and is and is to come, we pray. Amen.
All: Amen.

What is The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.
Amen.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen. Amen.
