“I Came to Magnify the Lord” M. Condon
Leader: Be patient! Wait and Watch, for the Lord is drawing near to us.
People: We have gathered here this day to hear the good news and to gather strength for the times to come.
Leader: Be at peace with one another.
People: Let love and wisdom prevail.
Leader: Open your hearts and souls to God’s healing word.
People: Lord, touch our hearts. Teach us to patiently listen for your words of love. AMEN.
Lord of delight and surprises, you come to us each day with opportunity, love, support. You pour your blessings on us, reminding us of your compassionate presence with us. Help us to be people of loving service. Help us to see the ways in which you enter our lives and enable us to serve you by serving your people.
As we have come to you this day, bringing our concerns for healing and hope, remind us that you are with us all and that your healing mercies are given. Give us the courage to be faithful stewards of your creation and bring us together with one another in celebration and service. Lift us up, bring us forward, give us peace. For we ask this in Jesus’ Name. AMEN.
"There Is A Name" K. Carr
What is The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.
Amen.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen. Amen.

Advent season is the beginning of the liturgical year. It is a season of expectation and anticipation, preparation and contemplation. It is four weeks of preparing our hearts to receive Jesus our Savior, who will bring incredible promise, healing, hope for peace on earth, and joy to the world. Beginning November 30th, we will have a family to light the Advent candles on each of the Four Sundays in Advent and read scriptures as part of the Advent Liturgical Celebration.
All poinsettias will remain in the Sanctuary until the end of service on Sunday, December 21st. Those who purchased poinsettias may receive them at that time.
We would like to thank everyone for their participation in the Angel Tree and Prison Ministries. Both events were very successful and enlightening because of your support. We supported 21 families and 51 children this year. Again, thank-you and we wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
On Sunday, January 18, 2026, at 10:30 a.m., for the "Labor in the Pulpit" worship service, we will welcome our local laborer leaders to speak briefly on the important connection between faith and labor.
Join us as we celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Teamsters Local 667 in Memphis actively honors Martin Luther King Jr. Day through longstanding traditions that highlight Dr. King’s connection to labor rights and the 1968 sanitation strike. Each year, the union participates in a commemorative march from North Main and A.W. Willis to the National Civil Rights Museum, often beginning with a ceremony led by Local President James E. Jones, Jr.
These events serve as a time of reflection, recognizing the sacrifices of the sanitation workers and reaffirming the ongoing fight for dignity and respect in the workplace.
