This group was formed to distribute copies of Logos Collections of commentaries and other related types.
Follow- Just curious if anyone has thought of updating these resource collection rules. I had a pro look over some of the stuff in my account and he noticed there was some warning to these collections. He suggested: You can greatly improve performance of these by using Search extensions for Author: and Publisher: https://wiki.logos.com/Logos_7.15_Beta_2Logos 7.15 Beta 2Guides and instructions on using Logos Bible Software products.wiki.logos.com
- Are there any groups on here that would have the lists of the best commentaries available on each book of the Bible that are in the different base packages?
- I like the New American Commentary that comes with the Baptist Gold. Recently upgraded to Baptist Platinum to get the College Press NIV Commentary. These are recent commentaries since now commentaries can become outdated.
- Is there any way to see the collection formula without copying it to our Logos Account? I really would like to see the formulas and decide whether to download as some collections are similar.
- Not easily. The way the forum is set up, the one posting the collection would have to copy the rule from their software and post it as a discussion item, making sure to tie the post to the correct name of the rule in the Documents tab. As of now, the simplest method is the one we have: copy the document so that the rule shows up in your software; then if it does not meet your needs, modify it (which happens a lot!), or simply delete it. If someone from Faithlife who knows a better way can chime it, it would help.
- Thank you for your reply.
- Hi Doc B, thanks for doing this. If I created a collection of my own and want to make it available in a group I run, how do I copy the rule from the program and make it available in the group like you've done with these?
- Hi All, Just uploaded a heap of collections (I use collections extensively), not all as I have 230+ of them. Just wanted to put it out there that these have been accumulated from various sources over the last months / years (just can't remember where I got them from) so if you see one of your collections here...THANKYOU :-) If you want me to take the link down then reply...Don't want to offend rather share some good work by some fantastic people.
- Is there a way that I can identify all the resources in my library that are not part of at least one collection? Thanks!
- Thanks Doc. I don't have as many collections as you but I still don't think I will spend the time doing that either !
- Replied to forum thread => http://community.logos.com/forums/t/73340.aspx with idea of using myrating:0 for resources not in any collection. Using myrating:0 filter with collection in Library shows all unrated resources; can select all resources then assign a rating.
- I created a collection of every title in my library, and then added every collection I have to the "exclude" part. Took a few minutes, but it wasn't that hard and the result was about 70 titles.
- If you download one of these collections, then edit the collection rule so it works better, PLEASE paste a note here indicating so. Then upload your copy of the collection with an edited name (so we don't overwrite our first copy). One suggestion is to simply add a '(2)' to the end of the name. I.e., if you are working with the James collection, which is called 'Commentaries, 80 James', you would upload a copy called, 'Commentaries, 80 James (2)' or something like that.
- David, they don't download into the library, but appear as one of your collections (Tools-Collections-Open). You should see them there.
- I cannot for the life of me find the document tab above nor any files within L5 Just finished a PB on "The True Doctrine of Justification" by Anthony Burgesse if anyones interested I remain, Always Yours in Jesus' love Stephen
- Stephen, Go to this thread in the forums and there's a screenshot of where the Documents tab is found-
