He Is Exalted

Verse

He is exalted

The King is exalted on high I will praise him

He is exalted forever exalted And I will praise His name

Pre chorus

He is the Lord

Forever His truth shall reign

Heaven and earth rejoice in His Holy name

Chorus

He is exalted

The King exalted on high

His Mercy Is More

Verse 1

What love could remember, no wrongs we have done

Omniscient, all-knowing, He counts not their sum

Thrown into a sea without bottom or shore

Our sins they are many, His mercy is more

Verse 2

What patience would wait as we constantly roam

What Father so tender is calling us home

He welcomes the weakest, the vilest, the poor

Our sins they are many, His mercy is more

Chorus

Praise the Lord His mercy is more

Stronger than darkness New every morn’

Our sins they are many, His mercy is more

Verse 3

What riches of kindness He lavished on us

His blood was the payment

His life was the cost

We stood ‘neath a debt we could never afford

Our sins they are many, His mercy is more

Great Things

Verse 1

To God be the glory great things He has done

So loved He the world that He gave us His Son

Who yielded His life an atonement for sin

And opened the life gate that all may go in

Verse 2

To God be the glory for wisdom and grace

That chose us and made us the heirs of His name

He justified freely His daughters and sons

And gave us His Spirit the seal of His love

Chorus

Praise God from whom all blessings flow

Through our Savior Jesus Christ

He has raised us up to a glorious hope

Rejoice you ransomed ones

Great things He has done

Verse 3

To God be the glory He joined us with Christ

We share in His death and we're hid in His life

We stand in His righteousness never our own

And sit with Him now on His heavenly throne

Be Lifted Up

Verse

Be lifted up be lifted up

As we bow down be lifted up

Be lifted up be lifted up

As we bow down be lifted up

Chorus 1

Let the heavens rejoice let the nations be glad

Let the whole earth tremble for you are God

Come and worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness

Chorus 2

Let the heavens rejoice let the nations be glad

Let the whole earth tremble for you are God

Come and worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness

As we bow down be lifted up

The Church: The Body of Christ

1 Corinthians 12:12–27

1. In the Body of Christ there is: Unity

The body is one but there are no divisions in the body. Unity is essential for the health of the body.

1 Corinthians 1:10

Matthew 12:25

2. In the Body of Christ there is: Diversity

The diversity of the church is something we see from the very beginning. The wealthy, poor, educated, uneducated, free, slave, male, female, were all a part of the church. They were all indispensable parts of the church family. They each brought unique gifts and a unique understanding of the culture around them.

Isaiah 28:16

1 Corinthians 11:17–18

John 13:34

3. In the Body of Christ there is: Interdependence

Disconnected we’re random body parts without a body to connect to. Connected, we are the body of Christ. The body is much greater than the sum of the parts. Each part is essential for the body to function properly.

Romans 12:14–21

Discuss
  1. Think about how easily divisions can arise in a church. What causes them?
  2. When we look at how a church is defined in the Bible why is it important to understand who we are and what is our mission
  3. How important is a diverse church body to reaching our community?
  4. Do I understand that God made me the way I am for a purpose?
  5. How can you connect with other parts of the body of Christ that you don’t understand?
  6. How are you connected to others who complement your gifts and talents?
  7. How can we, as a church, live out the Body of Christ imagery to show our community the love of Jesus?
