You Never Let Go

Verse 1:

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,

Your perfect love is casting out fear.

And even when I'm caught in the middle of the storms of this life,

I won't turn back, I know You are near.

Pre Chorus:

And I will fear no evil, For my God is with me.

And if my God is with me, Whom then shall I fear?

Whom then shall I fear?

Chorus:

Oh no, You never let go, Through the calm and through the storm Oh no, You never let go, In every high and every low

O no, You never let go Lord, You never let go of me.

Verse 2:

And I can see a light that is coming for the heart that holds on

A glorious light beyond all compare.

And there will be an end to these troubles, But until that day comes, We'll live to know You here on the earth.

Bridge:

Yes, I can see a light that is coming for the heart that holds on, And there will be an end to these troubles, but until that day comes, Still I will praise you, Still I will praise You

Indescribable

Verse 1:

From the highest of heights to the depths of the sea

Creation's revealing Your majesty

From the colors of fall to the fragrance of spring

Every creature unique in the song that it sings

All exclaiming

Chorus:

Indescribable, uncontainable

You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name

You are amazing God

All powerful, untameable

Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim

You are amazing God

Verse 2:

Who has told every lightning bolt where it should go

Or seen heavenly storehouses laden with snow

Who imagined the sun and gives source to its light

Yet conceals it to bring us the coolness of night

None can fathom

Blest Be The Tie That Binds

Verse 1:

Blest be the tie that binds

our hearts in Christian love;

the fellowship of kindred minds is like to that above.

Verse 2:

Before our Father's throne

we pour our ardent prayers;

our fears, our hopes, our aims are one, our comforts and our cares.

Chorus:

Blest be the union from above binding souls in Christian love

Blest be the Christ who set us free to give us rest in unity

Joined as one, in the Son, bound through life and life to come, life to come

Verse 3:

We share our mutual woes; Our mutual burdens bear;

And often for each other flows The sympathizing tear.

Verse 4:

When we asunder part,

it gives us inward pain;

but we shall still be joined in heart, and hope to meet again.

Yahweh

Verse 1:

Spirit of Jesus

Living within us

Never to fail or forsake

Unending promise

Heaven inside us

Whispers the sound of your name

Chorus 1:

Holy holy is the Lord

Worthy to be praised

Yahweh

Verse 2:

Filled with your wonder

Here I surrender

Held in your mystery of grace

Calling me closer

Waking desire

Coming alive in your name

Chorus 2:

Holy holy is the Lord

Worthy to be praised

Yahweh

Fire rising in my soul

All consuming flame

Yahweh

Bridge:

He who was and is to come

Is the one who lives in us

The Great I Am

Yahweh

Sermon

The Church: Jesus Is Head

Ephesians 1:22–23, Ephesians 5:22-33, Colossians 1:18

 1. Authority.

He holds all authority over all creation. He is creator, He is sustainer. When I understand that Jesus is the one who is truly in charge and I’m under His authority my perspective changes.

Colossians 1:15–20

Ephesians 1:22–23

Matthew 8:5–10

2. Sustainer.

Jesus is the perfect picture of what it means to be the head because not only is He the authority He is also the sustainer. He provides our deepest need.

Ephesians 4:15–16

Ephesians 5:21–33

Discuss
  1. When you think of “all authority” and “all power” what immediately pops into your mind? If the context is not the Great Commission what do you think?
  2. How are influenced by our culture in our understanding of authority? Is my perspective of Jesus’ authority and power influenced by culture or the cross?
  3. Do you believe that you are holy and without blemish, without spot or wrinkle, sanctified and cleansed? This is a tough question and how you answer it reveals your understanding of grace.
  4. What or who are you relying on to sustain you?
  5. Do you believe God is good and ultimately knows what is best?
