• Please pray.

Hi Everyone, I will be flying out to Portugal this evening to see my parents, for those who don't know my father has taken a turn for the worse. I would like to ask for prayer that my father's heart will be softened, as well as my mother's, so they may be receptive to the gospel message.
    1. Safe travels Mike, I'm praying for you and your family
  • Please pray.

Please read the following email from Brad and pray for this family and Kenya. Need Prayer Please share our prayer request at your own discretion. We want you to feel free to share as the Lord leads. However please do consider how other may take this and might not understand. Thank you in advance, for your discernment and consideration. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16 August 8th Elections On behalf of myself and my family, we would like to ask you again, for some specific, special prayer. The country of Kenya will be holding their presidential elections on August 8th-and we are praying for peace to abound, all around. The memories of the post-election violence back in 2007 (before we were here) is still so fresh in the minds of many, that the fear factor is high and heavy. There was a lot of bloodshed and brutality that left individuals and families bruised and broken. There is also much uncertainty and uneasiness regarding even the stability of the country, in addition to the individuals of the country. *(There is some concern that the current President will do what it takes to ensure that his opponent will not win. But even if he does lose, that the sitting President will not step down. This will mark the third time this same-opponent has lost-and he claims illegally-that the fear is he will try to take the office by force. The country of Kenya is still very tribal, and people are more loyal to their birth tribes than what is right). Therefore, several of the local stores are not stocking their shelves with the basic necessities from fear of the rioting and looting that might take place as food and supplies are scarce. Most of the other missionaries in this area are gone for this time, and even many Kenyan citizens will head out to their rural homes to "hide." However, we live outside of town (the hotspot), and do have a peace in our hearts about staying here as long as the Lord leads. While we do not wish to be foolish-we are trying to be wise, vigilant, and prepared as much as possible, by taking some precautionary measures. Our plan is to try to stay through, and "ride it out" hunkered down at home, by having a 2 week stock of food and other necessities to last us awhile (hopefully no more than 2 weeks of instability as things go back to some sense of order). We have as much of an "emergency exit plan" in place as possible, and a couple of options should that be necessary (whether that be going further back in country, or out of country). But regardless of "as much preparedness as possible"-I have to admit, I am a little nervous myself. I know the Lord is Sovereign and in control of ALL things; however, I now also understand that this does not necessarily mean that He will not allow something to happen to me or my family. If you would please just remember us in your prayers in these specific areas: *Please pray for our faith to be strengthened *Please pray for wisdom in deciding what to do and when *Please pray for our protection: of body, mind, and soul *Please pray that the Lord would use us as "lights to shine in this dark world" in such a time as this: to our community, our neighbors, our own family *Please pray for the "peace that passes ALL understanding to guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus" *Please pray for the Lord's will to be done regarding the elections, and the elected president-and a willingness and surrender to what the Lord allows (both in our lives and in this land). Thank you for your love, support, encouragement, and faithfulness to our family. We appreciate SO very much the precious part you play in our lives, and the Lord's work...through prayer. We cannot thank you enough for standing on our behalf, before the throne room of grace. May we be able to see and receive the grace given from His hand, even when it is hard to recognize it as such.
