*HYMN #679 “Let the Whole Creation Cry” (verses 1-2)
1 Let the whole creation cry,
"Glory to the Lord on high."
Heaven and earth, awake and sing,
"Praise to our almighty King."
Praise God, angel hosts above,
ever bright and fair in love;
sun and moon, uplift your voice;
night and stars, in God rejoice!
2 Men and women, young and old,
raise the anthem loud and bold;
join with children's songs of praise;
worship God through length of days.
From the north to southern pole
let the mighty chorus roll:
"Holy, holy, holy One,
glory be to God alone!"
CALL TO CONFESSION
PRAYER OF CONFESSION
God of the empty tomb and our empty hearts,
when we are afraid to speak our faith in the world,
forgive us and help us to find our voice.
When we are afraid to forgive and to love again,
forgive us and give us the power to forgive.
When we are afraid to stand up to misguided authority,
join with the weak to make us all strong.
When we are confined by our hurts,
touch us with your wounded hands and set us free.
When we are locked behind our doubts and fears,
pass through our barricades, open our hearts, and
give us peace. Amen.
WORDS OF FORGIVENESS

PRAYER OF THE DAY †
Alpha and Omega,
our beginning and our end,
you break through the lock

and hardened hearts:
accept our doubts,
heal our desire for certainty
and, by your Spirit’s gentle touch,
make us a people
forgiven and forgiving;
through Jesus Christ, the Giver of Peace.
Amen.

BAPTISM AND CONFIRMATION Matthew Chao, Ethan Coakley, Kate Dougherty,
Adrienne Wise
There is one body and one Spirit,
just as you were called
to the one hope of your calling,
one Lord, one faith, one baptism,
one God and Father of all,
who is above all and through all and in all.
The Lord be with you.
And also with you.
Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
It is right to give our thanks and praise.

*HYMN #231 “Christ Has Risen While Earth Slumbers”
1 Christ has risen while earth slumbers;
Christ has risen where hope died,
as he said and as he promised,
as we doubted and denied.
Let the moon embrace the blessing;
let the sun sustain the cheer;
let the world confirm the rumor:
Christ is risen, God is here!
2 Christ has risen for the people
whom he died to love and save;
Christ has risen for the women
bringing flowers to grace his grave.
Christ has risen for disciples
huddled in an upstairs room.
He whose word inspired creation
can’t be silenced by the tomb.
3 Christ has risen and for ever
lives to challenge and to change
all those lives are messed or mangled,
all who find religion strange.
Christ is risen, Christ is present
making us what He has been:
evidence of transformation
In which God is known and seen.
