Fresh Eyes for Your Family
January 12, 2020

This morning, as I began to collect my thoughts for this coming Sunday, I was reminded of how much of a blessing my family is to me. All too often, we take their presence for granted under the false assumption that the way things are is the way things will always be. But our family members are all very precious and should be loved and cherished in ways that make the best possible use of our time together.

So to those of us who still have living parents, I would challenge us to honor them with our hearts and with our time.

For those of us with children of any age, I would advise us to relish each day. The days may seem long but the years pass by too quickly.

For all of us who are married, our spouses are the “other half” of who we are and they should be held dear with the deepest affection.

For all of us with brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and outlaws, let’s remember that all of these people are who God placed in our lives as our unique families, our people and our kindred. We share with them our roots, our history and our heritage.

Well… now that I have us thinking on this subject, please join us this Sunday at 10:45 as we go further into the topic of “Fresh Eyes for Your Family”.

God bless You and I’ll see You soon…

This is the second official notice of our Annual Church Business Meeting to be held on Sunday, February 2nd, at the end of our morning service. We will be presenting our report for 2019 and choosing two new SCC Board Members from the following Nominees: David Boland, Bob Bonner, Nathan Rico and Gabriel Torres

Our adults have begun a new video series called “Killing Kryptonite” and you for sure do not want to miss it! If you have ordered the book for this series, your copy is available in the lobby today.

Now, giving can take seconds—and isn’t limited to Sunday mornings. It’s a cinch to set up recurring gifts, which means you’ll have a more predictable budget. Plus, you can choose to cover the transaction fee.
