- More Spiritual Warfare - In Conclusion Lastly, I've got several verses here to look at. Galatians 3:26 calls us “the children of God by faith in Jesus Christ.” The Greek word translated children means sons. Romans 8:14 says that “as many as are led by the spirit, they are the sons of God.” Romans 8:19, “for the earnest expectation of the creature [creation] waiteth”, for what? “The manifestation of the sons of God.” Galatians 4:7 “Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.” Philippians 2:15 “That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;” So who are the sons of God today? WE ARE!!! Who are the sons of God in the Old Testament? God's supernatural family, the Elohim that were good, were called the sons of God. And they were members of God's Divine Counsel. But now we are the sons of God and we will take our place in the Divine Counsel. We are now part of the Divine Counsel with God and we wait for the day when we're raptured to heaven and we take that position. That's what we're going to be doing. And when Paul says, "Don't you know you're going to judge angels?" That will be one of our roles in the Divine Counsel. Why do angels need to be judged? We're going to rule over them. [That's what judging/judgment means.] We're going to judge them. You're going to be ruling over them. Why do we need to rule over angels? Well, remember I told you we'll have an incorruptible body? In heaven, we won't sin, but angels that already went bad and others that could still go bad, we will judge. Yes, it's still possible for supernatural beings to go bad. And there's no redemption plan for the angels. If/when they rebel, they'll be judged and thrown the lake of fire. And we'll be judging them to make sure they stay in line. That's what we will be doing in the heavenlies!!! Participating forever as part of God's heavenly host. Isn't that beautiful? Isn't that phenomenal? But until such time, we need to be bringing others to Christ. We need to be His ambassadors. An Ambassador is a spokesperson for a leader. We need to be Christ's spokesperson to communicate the gospel to the unsaved. Let's all help bring in the Fullness of the Gentiles!!! Since I gave this message, we are seeing an incredible revival in our country, and the whole world due to Charlie Kirk's martyrdom. We are Charlie Kirk now and as Charlie shared the gospel where ever he went, let us boldly proclaim the gospel. Let's fight the good spiritual warfare fight for the souls of mankind. "Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again the third day." 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 This is the gospel. Believe this and you are saved. "God displayed His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8 "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23 "By grace ye are saved through faith [believing the gospel] and that [salvation is] not of yourselves, it is the gift of God." Ephesians 2:8
- More Spiritual Warfare - Part 6 - The Armour of God Now I'd like to elaborate more about the Armour of God in Ephesians 6:13-17. Notice what each piece has in common! "Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth." When we talk about our loins girt about with truth, note that Ephesians 1:13 says the word of truth is the gospel of your salvation. That is the same word of truth. "And having on the breastplate of righteousness." I feel this refers to 2 Corinthians 5:21 where we are made the righteousness of God in him, so wear this righteousness as a breastplate. "And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel", correspond to Romans 10:15 where Paul says, “how beautiful are the feet of those that preach the gospel of peace and bring glad tidings of good things.” "With the preparation of the gospel of peace", seems to relate to Romans 5:1. “Being justified by faith, we have peace with God. "Taking the shield of faith", I link this to Romans 1:17 where “the righteousness of God was revealed from faith to faith that is as is written, the just shall live [be saved] by faith.” We are saved by faith. "Take the helmet of salvation, I likened that to Romans 1:16. and I'm not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it's the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believeth. And 1Thes. 5:8 says, “But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.” The knowledge of being saved is our helmet. "And the sword of the Spirit, is the Word of God." Notice what Paul tells Timothy. 2 Timothy 3:15 tells us “And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation.” The Word of God makes us wise unto salvation. So that's what I think the meaning of the armor is and that each piece has to do with sharing the gospel and believing it, never doubting your salvation. This is the armour, i.e. our weapons, we use to wage our spiritual warfare. Since we are battling the wicked spirits over the souls of mankind, it makes perfect sense that our armour/our weapons having everything to do with saving souls.
- More Spiritual Warfare - Part 5 (more about the 2nd rebellion) But let's talk about Genesis chapter 6, where we've got these sons of God and the daughters of men. Remember me saying that those sons of God were indeed supernatural beings who made a plan to come to this earth and do this dastardly deed. And that's all we get from Genesis is just that. no descriptions, nothing more descriptive. Although verse five of Genesis 6, we'll get to in a minute, is most telling. And I pointed you to the book of Enoch. And I said, you may not have heard about this book, but it was prominent in the understanding of the day before Jesus's time and during Jesus's time. And even when the apostles wrote, when Jude and Peter wrote, they quote from that book. And they wrote things expecting their readers to know what they're talking about. They weren't writing so much to address what we think today. [Although God and his foreknowledge knew that it would bless us and be something we can benefit from.] They [Peter and Jude] were writing to the people of their day and they knew their readers understood what they were talking about. But one thing I want to mention about the book of Enoch is what Genesis chapter 6 verse 5 says, almost in passing, the book of Enoch describes in greater detail. We just read about these sons of God mating with the daughters of men. We read about these giants being born of them and they are men of reputation. And then the topic sort of drops except he makes this statement. Genesis 6 verse 5, “And God saw the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually”. How did we go from giants were born and that's that, to now the world is totally corrupt. How did human depravity increase to a scale not seen up till then? The book of Enoch tells us in Chapter 7: “And all the others together with them took unto themselves wives, and each chose for himself one. And they began to go in unto them, and to defile themselves with them. And they taught them charms and enchantments and the cutting of roots, and they made them acquainted with plants. And they became pregnant and bare great giants ... Who consumed all the acquisitions of men. And when men could no longer sustain them, the giants turned against them and devoured mankind.” Let's keep reading. “And they began to sin against birds and beasts and reptiles and fish and devour one another's flesh and drink the blood. And the earth laid accusation against the lawless ones.” So these are the actions of the 200 supernatural beings. This is what they're doing. Now, chapter 8 of First Enoch. I'm going to skip over the names of these beings. Enoch names the names of these supernatural beings. That's just amazing. So, chapter 8 verse one talks about one of the supernatural beings taught men to … “make swords, knives, and shields, and breastplates, and make known to them metals and the art of working them.” You ever wonder how ancient man learned all this stuff? Metallurgy. You think they just figured it out on their own? They found some rock in the ground and decided, "Let's melt it and see what happens." The knowledge of the ancient cultures that we're still learning about today being so advanced, is not from aliens coming to this earth. Although you could say these supernatural beings are aliens. They taught mankind these things. They taught them how to make war. They taught them how to slaughter other humans. And he did. Let's keep reading what else they taught mankind. “Then bracelets and ornaments and the use of antimony and the beautifying of the eyelids and all kinds of costly stones and coloring tinctures.” Well, God's not against jewelry. The point is they taught them this to beautify themselves so that they could commit fornication is Enoch goes on to say... “the coloring of tinctures and there arose much godlessness and they committed fornication and were led astray and became corrupt in all their ways.” Keep reading verse three. This other supernatureal being taught enchantments and root cutings. Those are spells, witchcraft, potions, resolving of enchantments. They taught mankind "astrology and constellations and the knowledge of the clouds", [whatever that means]. "The signs of the earth and the signs of the sun and the course of the moon. And as men perished, they cried and their cry went up to heaven." That's how bad it got between Genesis 6:4 and Genesis 6:5. It's that terrible. Human depravity increased at a scale fueled by these supernatural beings who came down. And then in chapter nine, I think, is interesting. These are the good supernatural beings. “And then Michael and Uriel and Raphael and Gabriel looked down from heaven and saw much blood being shed upon the earth and all the lawlessness being wrought upon the earth. They said one to another. The earth made without inhabitants cries the voice of their cryings up to the gates of heaven.” Mankind is crying for help. And now you, the holy ones of heaven, the souls of men, make their suits, saying, "Bring our cause before the most high." Mankind is begging for these angels to go to God to do something about this. That's how bad things are. So Enoch fills in a lot of the blanks about what's going on and how things got so bad. The second rebellion brought in an acceleration of human depravity so terrible that God intervened with a worldwide flood. But that didn't end with the flood, human depravity and evil knowledge that they taught mankind carried on after the flood. So that's the effect of the second rebellion.
- More Spiritual Warfare - Part 4 And then I go on and talk about these three rebellions. These three rebellions were prevalent in Jewish thinking in Jesus’ day. And I mentioned in Dead Sea Scrolls, the literature they found is full of references to these three rebellions and the Jews of that time believed that they are the cause of the condition of the world. That's important. Now these three rebellions, what did they do? Well, the first one, Satan falling, [I wanted to make the point that I think Satan fell after day seven of creation since he was created in a day and I don't think there were days before Genesis 1. So, he fell after creation. And I can't find a verse in the Old Testament that says anybody joined Satan when he fell. He fell alone.] He didn't like God having a human family and he was all about ruining it for him. And so what does that fall create? Death and Sin. Suddenly death has entered into the world. And the book of Hebrews talks about them who through [or because of] the fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. This is a big deal and something's got to be done about it. And Sin has entered the world and all humans are under sin. How do we fix that? The second rebellion had to do with these sons of God coming into the world. This occurs in Genesis chapter 6, where we've got these sons of God and the daughters of men. I beat you over the head with that saying that those sons of God were indeed angels, supernatural beings, who made a plan to come to this earth and do this dastardly deed. [It's as if they want to create their own race of humans, hydrids] And all we get from Genesis is just that. no descriptions, nothing more descriptive. So, it was known. And Enoch describes in detail what happens in Genesis 6. We read about these sons of God mating with the daughters of men. We read about these giants being born of them and they're men of reputation. And then the topic sort of drops except he makes this statement. Genesis 6 verse 5, “And God saw the wickedness of man was great in the earth and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually." How did we go from giants were born and that's that, to now the world is totally corrupt. What the sons of God did and their offspring, the giants, resulted in human depravity increasing at a scale not seen up till then. And Enoch describes in detail what they did to humanity. So the second rebellion brought in an acceleration of human depravity so bad and that didn't end with the flood. That human depravity and then knowledge that they taught was carried after the flood by the sons of Noah, by the wives of Noah's sons, I don't know, but it was there and it continued. So that's the effect of the second rebellion. And then I mentioned the third rebellion. And the third rebellion may be the most difficult one for us to grasp because it describes something. You scratch your head and say, "Did God really do that?" And Romans talks about God giving them [the nations] up. Three times he gave them up. And then we learn from the book of Deuteronomy 32:8-9 that what God did was gave them [the nations] to a number of his supernatural sons, principalities and powers, who were good, and says, "You guys now rule over these nations. I want nothing to do with them." So God disinherited the nations. And essentially says, you spirit beings of mine, rule over them and direct them in the right direction. He didn't want them to go off into bad things. And that's what we learn from the book of Deuteronomy. And Moses spells that out several times. And then we learn from Psalm 82 that God's going to judge them because they went bad and they turned to solicit worship from man. And man was only too happy to follow suit and they did. That's the third rebellion. And we are still feeling the effects of that today. Those supernatural beings are still ruling the Gentiles. They are lords over the Gentiles. That's why when we get saved, we make Jesus our Lord. He's the Lord of all the lords. And every Gentile Paul ran into, were idol worshippers. I think it was very rare for Paul to run into an atheist in his day. They worshiped the gods that were over them. And the good news is that the effects of the three rebellions that caused so much bad to happen upon the earth, Christ has dealt with in his death and resurrection. He conquered death. ‘Oh death, where is thy sting? Oh grave, where is thy victory?” Paul quotes [1Cor. 15.52-57] which says, "Behold, I show you a secret,” our bodies are going to be changed to incorruptible bodies at the rapture." That's part of Paul's message. Jesus has now rectified or resolved what Satan brought into the world. Death is defeated and sin is dealt with. What about the second rebellion? Human depravity, heights unknown. Well, for the kingdom saints, it happened when the Holy Spirit came at Pentecost and they were caused to do His will. But under Paul's message, our old man is crucified and we have the new man. And our battle that we fight today is the flesh against the spirit to not sin. Sin comes from the flesh. Sin doesn't come from these principalities and powers, That's the battle we have and one day we won't have that flesh one day we'll have an incorruptible body and what happens when our bodies are incorruptible, we don't sin anymore so that human depravity is resolved. And what about the third rebellion. These principalities and powers in Col. 2:15, Jesus spoiled them, He defeated them, He removed their authority over the saved, they're subject to Him now. And only the lost are still in darkness and are being influenced by these guys. So the devastating effects of the 3 rebellions have all been addressed, reversed, resolved by the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Praise the Lord.
