On January 26 we will be hosting a meeting for parents called "Tech-Sensible Parenting". The goal is to raise awareness of technology's life-shaping role on children and teens and equipping you to engage with them on the impact this can have on their emotional and spiritual development. We will meet in the church fellowship hall at 3:00 PM. We will also have a time to discuss tools that help you manage your child's time with their devices.
We are raising money to serve at The Banquet in Sioux Falls, February 29. There is a fundraiser board with envelopes that you can pick and fill. This event we invite the congregation to join us in serving. On youth Sunday (February 2) we will have a sign up sheet if you are interested in serving along side us. Thank you for your support!
The Jr. RCYF students are selling "Super Bowl Sliders" to help fund the transportation to their RYM (Reformed Youth Ministries) camp this summer. For $10 you get 9 tasty, glazed Swiss cheese and ham buns. They will be a hit at your Super Bowl party or even for dinner after church that Sunday. There are order sheets on the Welcome Desk or in the narthex. You can choose to either have them delivered on February 1 after we make them or pick them up the next day on Super Bowl Sunday.
We live in a time where it seems as though the whole world is shaking around us. As servants of Almighty God it is important for us to remember that His Kingdom is unshakeable. Starting on February 9 at 4:00 PM we will be going through a study from Ligonier Ministries entitled "A Time for Confidence" for six weeks. This study reminds us that in difficult times in Christ we have a sure place to turn and it is not a time for retreat or surrender. Instead, it is a time for confidence in Christ and His gospel.
There will be a Red Cross Blood Drive at the Presbyterian Church in Edgerton on Wednesday, January 29 from 12:00-6:00 p.m. Please call Betty at 507-227-8416 or firstname.lastname@example.org to make an appointment. Every 2 seconds someone in the USA needs blood. There is a constant need. Anyone 17 years or older and in good health are able to donate.
We have another missing jacket. Jim Achterhoff”s coat is missing from Elmer Pietz’s birthday luncheon. It is dark charcoal grey with a zipper, buttons and leather gloves in the pocket and is Dockers brand. It has a name on it. There is one hanging up, if you got them mixed up and took the wrong one can you please trade the one you have. If anyone has seen a women’s long black Columbia winter coat please return it to Nancy’s office. It has been missing since the service on Christmas day.
As we begin a new year we now have an additional way for you to give your offerings. We know that less people carry cash and checks than in the past. Therefore, we are now offering online giving. You can make a one-time donation or set up recurring gifts by going to edgertonfrc.org/give or by texting "Give" to 507-200-2199 and following the link that is sent back to you.
