Announcements

ASSOCIATE PASTOR | Lawrence and Ashley Klingsheim have prayerfully accepted the call to join our ministry. Lawrence will partner with Pastor Marlin, as our Associate Pastor, focusing on ministry to families and young adults. Please be in prayer, as we work out the logistics of their transition to the Iron Range and to their new ministry.

BAPTISM SERVICE | We will have a second baptism service this summer. It will be on Thursday, September 1 at 5:00 pm. If God is prompting you to proclaim your salvation through baptism, contact Pastor Marlin.

WOMEN’S RETREAT | The Women’s Retreat will take place September 16-18, 2022, at Miracle Bible Camp in Hackensack, MN. The cost is $100 for the weekend. This is a great time with the Lord, while developing stronger relationships with ladies and enjoying God’s country. Sign up at the table in the back.

OUR DAILY BREAD | These daily devotional guides for September-November are available on the back tables.

ENGAGE BONFIRE | Join us Wednesday, August 31 at 6:30 pm as we begin another school year of youth ministry. We will play wiffleball, eat hot dogs, share around the fire, and welcome our new 7th grade students. Invite your friends!

ADULT CAMP | “Re-Ignitors” adult camp will take place at DLBC September 2-5. Register online at dlbconline.com.

SCHOLARSHIP AWARD | The recipient of this year’s One Another College Scholarship is Mylea Laulunen. She will receive $500 toward her schooling at Bemidji State University.

FALL CLASSES | In September, our fall adult Sunday classes begin again. Please sign up on the back bulletin board for one of the following electives. This helps with planning the classrooms.

  • “In Defense of a Christian Worldview” – A Bible study for anyone from 13 years old to 113. It is intended to strengthen faith and increase confidence when defending a Christian worldview. Subjects that will be touched upon include truth, logic, science, creation, morality, miracles, archaeology, and the problem of evil.

  • “Holiness” – A discussion of what the Bible says about "holiness.” What is it? Since God wants His people to be holy, how does that happen? What does it look like in our everyday living?

Missions Update

Steve Baty with Southern MN InterVarsity Christian Fellowship is excited to begin a new year of college campus ministry. He is asking for prayer for the critical first 4 weeks when students decide what activities they will become involved in for the upcoming school year.

According to the Barna group, three out of five students who grow up in a Christian home will fall away from their faith after age 15. Pray for God to use InterVarsity staff and students in powerful ways to welcome new students and help them find their spiritual home in InterVarsity's communities. Pray for opportunities for sharing the gospel and open hearts.
