Due to COVID 19, many in our community have come to us for help with food. Our food pantry here at East Side is low on the following items: Cereal, Corn, Spaghetti Sauce, Fruit, Soup, Mixed Vegetables, Peanut Butter, Rice, Beans, Pasta, Box Mix, Jelly, & Canned Meats If you would like to help, you may bring your donations by the church office, or leave them in the east lobby for pick up. Thank you for your generosity and love in helping feed the hungry in our community!
Worship Services May 31, 2020 Due to the governor’s downgrading of some of the COVID 19 restrictions, the elders have made the decision to have worship services at the building this coming Sunday, May 31st at 10:00 a.m. & Celebrate Recovery worship service at 5:00 p.m. You will still be able to stream our services live on Facebook and also through our website at www.eastsidefamily.church. If you are at risk health wise, or for any reason you are not comfortable with coming to the building to worship, please do not feel you have to. Please stay home and safe if you or those around you are at risk. Our approach to coming into the building and how we interact with each other will look a little different. You will only be able to enter at the east lobby. (DO NOT ENTER AT OTHER DOORS). Someone will be at the door to wipe it down each time it is touched, and hand sanitizer will be available for use. All water fountains will be covered and not in use. The pews will be set up in “pods”(groupings) to allow social distancing. Please observe 6 feet social distancing. Please do not touch or hug, Communion will be served with individual serving sets. (Grape juice and bread all included). We will have Children’s Church, but parents are asked to sit with your children during the lesson and help them observe social distancing. There will be NO Common Groundz, Bible Classes (Sun or Wed.), or child care. We hope this will prepare each of you to be a part of the service if you chose to come. Again, we will live stream if you are at risk. Thank you!
Reminder: Your contributions can be made online at our church website:www.eastsidefamily.church under giving, or you may drop it off at the office; you may leave it in our locked mailbox, or mail it to us at 201 31st Street. Thanks!

BUT GOD IS GREATER “The one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.” 1 John 4:4 The world is facing problems that the “ power of positive thinking” can’t touch—serious evil like the corruption of government, the ominous influence of organized traffickers, the pernicious threat of terrorism, the breakup of marriages and families, and widespread chemical abuse. All of this evil appears to have taken hold of our world, never to let go. But God’s power is “greater than the one who is in the world,” and God lives in you. The opposition you encounter in everyday life—and especially when you consciously serve God in all that you do—is an invitation to focus your mind and heart on our omnipotent, trustworthy God and pray to Him. Other Christians, your family in faith, can join in, too, to multiply those prayers. There is power in prayer—God’s power—which is stronger than any and all opposition. Consider a time when you faced opposition…and your trustworthy God came through for you. The opposition may have been great, but God was greater—and that still holds true today. Even if the almighty God encounters opposition to His goals, it doesn’t keep him from reaching those goals. He is in you, and He will empower you to pray against and overcome the one who is in the world. God, I find such comfort in the truth that You are greater than any opposition that can arise. You are unbeatable, Lord! Unshakeable Christine Caine
