This was the September update from Friends of Haiti. Two months later the schools have yet to reopen but the LaCroix mission has been able to do some schooling and provide two daily meals for some children in the community. Please keep them all in prayer. "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day" (PSALM 46:1-5). DEAR FAITHFUL FRIENDS AND SUPPORTERS OF GOD'S MINISTRY: Greetings in the most precious name of our Lord and Savior Jesus. HOW IS HAITI? I am writing this to send you because I know Pastor Evens is not able to send an update this weekend due to the situation there. This week has been paralyzed. Three days of a strike Monday through Wednesday and two days of demonstrations yesterday and today all over. Everything is closed. Barricades are everywhere in the city of Gonaives. There is no fuel available to buy in the gas stations and neither do individuals who used to sell it in the streets. Everyone is walking with their loads on their heads. It is not necessary to go out if you don't have to. People of my age( I won't tell you how old I am) are saying that they have never seen anything like that before. The country has come to a point where people can hardly survive. THANK YOU FOR BEING GOD'S HANDS In PSALM 146:7 we read "The Lord upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry." We are so grateful and thankful to the Lord God and to you for helping us to provide food for our parishioners in this time of great crisis. YOU SAVE THE DAY. We really appreciate your spirit of sacrifice in your giving knowing that there is inflation everywhere. Every month you put our people in your budget to make sure they have a bite to eat. We have no words to THANK YOU. They are very thankful and ask us to convey their thanks to YOU. SCHOOL School is scheduled to be back in session this coming Monday, October 3. Whether or not it will take place, we don't know for it doesn't look like it. MEDICAL CLINIC The medical clinic, built by Doctor Dan and Linda Lattanzi, has been and is a great blessing not only to the people in Lacroix but to people all over Haiti because people come from all over to this clinic. However, the clinic has suspended its service beginning this week and remains open for emergencies. Patients cannot come because of the situation. Doctor Abel and Miss Mireille who are from Lacroix and who stay there, are there to help in emergencies. Medicines are very difficult to get. We can't get fuel for the generator.   What the country is going through is affecting everybody. Please continue to pray for Haiti and the Haitians. Needless to say how much we appreciate your prayers for the mission and the protection of the coworkers. Because of the oppression of the weak and the groaning of the needy, I will now arise, says the Lord, "I will protect them from those who malign them" (PSALM 12:5). May the Lord bless you! 1. To public

Children at the LaCroix New Testament Mission in Haiti recently celebrated Arbor Day by getting individual trees. The students were encouraged to take their trees home and plant them near their houses. Faith Church supports two children at this mission school under the Friends of Haiti program.

Members of Faith Church were joined by students at Cal U last week at the food bank to pack boxes for area seniors. Each box is weighed, which was the job Bob Caleffe and Brad DeBusk undertook to insure the same amount of food gets packed in each box.
