Welcome to Fellowship! We're glad you're here! Please fill out the INFO CARD at the bottom of these notes.
Today's Teaching
When technology starts acting up, sometimes you just have to REBOOT - clear away the clutter and just start over. Today we consider 3 spiritual resolutions to reboot in this new year and embrace a fresh start.
It is vital that you stay involved in the life of the church. The letter to the Hebrews addressed some who were inconsistent with meeting with their faith family.
If you SHOW UP regularly to our Worship Gathering, keep it up! But don’t stop with that. Church is not to be a place or event, but a FAITH FAMILY we do life with.
- The Christian who refuses to obey all the “one anothers” is disobeying 50% of what God commands.
Hebrews 10:24-25 commands followers of Jesus to “spur one another on toward love and good deeds” and to encourage one another as we get closer and closer to the return of Jesus.
- Does that sound like your relationship with people in your local church?
- SHOW UP and make meeting with your Church a priority over everything else.
QUESTIONS:
- If everybody was a committed to the local church as I am, would MY church look more like a CLUB or a FAMILY?
- If my kids, grandkids, or friends follow my example, will they follow the commands of Jesus to meet together consistently, challenge other Christians to love and good deeds, and encourage other believers to remain faithful to Jesus & one another?
Plug into GROUP LIFE!
- ON CAMPUS GROUPS meet on Sundays at 10am.
- Guys Group & Ladies Group on Wed Nights @ 6:30pm. Students have GROUP relationships on Wed nights too.

Many in the 1st century who claimed Christ weren’t growing like they needed to.
Does that sound like people who are seeking first the KING and the KINGdom? NOPE. They were worldly instead of Godly. They were much weaker than they should have been at this stage.
The author of Hebrews was concerned about the same thing with the people he was writing to.
These people were satisfied being spiritual babies, depending on other people to feed them with no desire to grow so they could help others grow. Even though they were SHOWING UP, they weren’t GROWING UP.
- Are YOU doing to GROW UP in Jesus? How are you training to distinguish good from evil?
3 Options to determine who God is and what God says:
- Make it up. Many people make up their version of God and what He expects.
- Listen to what others say about the Scriptures, but how can you determine if what they teach is true?
- Read the Scriptures for yourself and help teach others.
- Is your goal to check off a task…OR…is your goal to get to know your God and GROW in Him?
- Find a quiet place
- Make an appointment time
- Read from an understandable translation of the Bible.
- Follow a reading plan (1 chapter a day or M’Cheyne Bible Reading Plan). Pick up a copy today at the front entrance or see NEXT PIC BELOW with ONLINE LINK.
- Have writing tools ready (highlighter, pen & paper, or digital device).
M’CHEYNE DAILY BIBLE READING PLAN
Enjoy reading through the Bible with 4 chapters a day from 4 different passages from the Scriptures.
Prioritize your appointment.
- Go to bed on time (early enough to wake up early enough).
- Set an alarm to be on time.
- Ditch the Distractions (Turn off notifications - social accounts, emails, etc.)
Read it right.
- Read the Scriptures in context (never read A Bible verse)
- Recognize the difference between descriptive and prescriptive. Does is describe what they DID do, or does it prescribe what we SHOULD do?
- Appreciate what the Scriptures describe & Practice what the Scriptures prescribe.
TAKE NOTES.
- Write down insights and questions. You are much more likely to remember what you read when you write it down.
- Share insights and questions. This is one of the ways that Christians can have spiritual conversations leading to good questions, deeper study, and sharing what God has used to challenge or encourage you!
Serve Others
- How are you using your gift to serve others so that God may be praised?
- If you aren’t already serving in some capacity, would you start asking God to use you? Next, touch base with Christy Adams, our Staff, Deacons & wives, or another Christian and share your desire to serve. In the coming days we will roll out some WAYS to serve & some PLACES you can serve.
Share Jesus with Others
What if Jesus came back in 2022? Is there anyone you care about who doesn’t follow Jesus yet? What are YOU going to do about that?
