First Church Alert
5 Things to Know this Week @ First Church
1 Revival: It all starts with the Holy Spirit
Revival starts when the Holy Spirit shows up. The Spirit changes each of us, and the Spirit changes all of us together. Join us this Sunday in worship at 10 a.m. as we experience the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in our hearts and our church, with a celebration of the Lord’s Supper. Join us after worship for some fellowship time and treats! (Please note: If you wish for us to bring you home communion, please call the Church Office no later than Sunday morning at 9 a.m.)
-Don't forget there is an A.R.K. Parents meeting with Aricka following fellowship.-
2 Update on Fan Coil Unit installation
There was a change of plans over the weekend with the installation of our fan coil units. The new fan coil units have arrived (the pile of boxes in the middle of the Fellowship Hall), but installation will not begin until Monday, August 8. Please be careful around the units if you have to be in the Fellowship Hall on Sunday.
3 A Christian Conversation on Abortion
Our nation has long been divided on the question of abortion, and the reversal of Roe v. Wade has ignited those divisions. How are we to respond as followers of Jesus? Join us for a conversation this Sunday, August 7, at 1:30 p.m. All are welcome, so please feel free to invite family and friends for this time of dialogue and prayer.
4 Go Go Jonah!
If you missed last week’s performance of “Go Go Jonah,” tune in to our YouTube Channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCXTs_9jRVMSXuzpfEIJKknA) to watch and listen to the recording. The kids did a GREAT job.
5 Mission Trip Sunday
When young people join the church, we promise together to nurture and encourage them in their faith. One easy way to do that is to show up in support of Mission Trip Sunday on August 14. Please mark your calendars and make it a priority to hear the youths’ experience in mission to Del Norte.
Plus….Tables returns this fall! It’s a small group ministry of food and friendship. More information to come!
