5 Things to Know this Week @ First Church
1 Treasure Hunt!
A.R.K. (Amazing Redeemed Kids) resumes this Sunday as kids slide (literally) into fun and get to know that God is present in every detail and circumstance in their lives. Remember that kids head downstairs immediately following the Children’s Message.
2 Jesus A to Z: N is for Nicodemus
Even if we struggle to remember Nicodemus, we all know Jesus’ words to him, “For God so loved the world…” (John 3:16). Join us on Sunday at 10 a.m., when worship will include Pastor MJ’s message on God’s love in Jesus Christ, along with some extra praise music from the band.
3 Junction Kids is a go!
We all want our kids to grow in Christ, but weekends are busy, so Junction Kids is our new mid-week ministry every Wednesday after school where kids will meet Jesus, make friends, and learn to share hope. Junction Kids happens from February 8-April 5. Kids begin gathering after school until 4:20 p.m., when we kick off our time together. They’ll finish up at 5:30 p.m. Kids (K-5th grade) travel to stations including Art, Drama, Music, Science, Computers, Cooking, and Games. Our eight weeks ends in celebration on April 5, when parents and families will be invited to join them. Please register at https://forms.gle/X1oYFzasEW9n6bhx5, or you can stop by the church, or register when you bring your child (or children) for the first time. For more information or to volunteer, contact Pastor MJ directly at pastor@lajuntapres.org or 719-469-7717.
4 Christmas Offering
We made it to our goal of $2200 to fund a water cistern through the Outreach Foundation. Thanks to all who contributed so generously!
5 ELEVATE Youth Group
With the addition of the rising 8th graders joining the high schoolers to prepare for the mission trip fundraiser (mark your calendars for March 12!), our ELEVATE Youth Group is bursting at the seams. We thank God for Angel Saucedo and Elisabeth Chambers’ leadership of this special group.
And prayers…
For teachers and students back in school…for Cathy Lease as she continues her cancer treatments…for Jerry and Meredith Bradfield’s son-in-law Dave MacRunnel and wife Brianne as he battles cancer…for Scott Kerr and staff at the Barista, our Business of the Week.
