First Church Alert
5 Things to Know this Week @ First Church
1 We praise God
We praise God, for we are fearfully and wonderfully made, as we conclude our worship series, “Known,” from Psalm 139. Our worship will include a special time of Thanksgiving Prayer.
2 Pie social is on! (with some modifications)
Our annual pie social is a “go” but with some modifications:
- We’ll be outside on the church lawn. Bundle up! It’s a cold day.
- Bring a camp chair! We’ll have some extras for those who forget.
- Please bring your pie already served, placed on a paper plate, and wrapped.
We’ll have hot drinks, napkins, and forks.
3 The Polar Express
We’re so excited about our carpool cinema showing of “The Polar Express” on Friday, December 4, and you’re invited. Bring friends! We’ll project the movie so all can see it from the comfort (and warmth) of their cars, and we’ll have the sound transmitted. Donations of candy and cocoa mix are much appreciated!
4 “A Charlie Brown Christmas”...The Movie
It’s coming soon! Volunteers, please pick up your scripts and costumes beginning this Sunday, November 22.
5 A final note on safety
Thanks to your diligence in mask wearing and social distancing, we have had no COVID-19 exposure in worship. Thank you! Our current capacity limit in the sanctuary is 50, so we have overflow space set up in the Church Library and Cranson Room. And, always, we broadcast on Youtube from the church channel (link below).
For Kenny and Denise Root on the death of Kenny’s sister in law Jo Root (wife of Russell)...for all sick and affected by the COVID virus and those adapting to remote school and work in these weeks, as well as first responders and medical personnel.
