- Good morning, friends! Tonight we will be discussing the end of Ephesians chapter 3. Read ahead! We will be looking at what an invitation to live abundantly looks like from an abundant God, who does not play in scarcity mindset. Looking forward to seeing each of you!
- Some thoughts on last nights message. Regarding abundantly.. What Paul is referring to when he talks about abundantly. In 3:19, the fulness Paul is talking about is defined in the Greek as "a) a fill, fullness; full complement; supply, patch, supplement, (b) fullness, filling, fulfillment, completion." He is referring to the spiritual, not necessarily the physical. We will have the fulness of the spiritual gifts in abundance. The prosperity gospel movement has used this verse to imply that a relationship with Jesus will result in abundance of money, houses, boats, fish taco's... But we see in the world this is not the case. Jesus promised his indwelling spirit, and will take care of us. Just some ponderings on the passage. :) Interested in the thoughts of others on this passage from last night.
- Boom !
- What does your deep dive look like, friend? What resources are you utilizing for your understanding? If one wanted to, where could he or she go to dig in?
- I use the John Macarthur Study Bible, and also the website "biblehub" so that I can look at the passages I am studying in the original greek. You can also, through Biblehub, look at the strongs concordance interpretation of the words to get their deeper literal meaning. The study bible gives you great cross references so that you can see the same theme in other places throughout scripture adding greater potential for personal application. :)
- I am also doing the same thing. I have always been intimidated to use a study Bible, but I am loving it!
