The service of Lessons and Carols is a time honored tradition in many churches. As each lesson is read, the Word will come closer to The Lord’s Table, symbolizing Christ coming into our world. It is important to remember that as we celebrate Christmas and the joy of the season, we also must recognize that there is a cross in the manger and that the purpose of the Christ Child was to free us from our sins. Such it is that we celebrate Christmas, the time in which God came down and dwells among us.
