We gather on this Sabbath day to worship our Living Lord
Come Lord Jesus, Come as we offer praise, prayers and our acts of service
We set aside this hour, this day, this moment, to grow in our relationship with God.
Come Lord Jesus, Come as we celebrate this time of rest and renewal.
May your Spirit of truth break open our hearts to the hearing of Your Word.
Come Lord Jesus, Come, Let us worship God together.

Prayer of Confession
Father, we confess that we are quick to look to things in this world rather than to you for true rest.
We confess that we look to food for rest – we even call it “comfort food.”
We confess that we look to money for rest – as if financial stability solves all of life’s problems.
We look to entertainment for rest – the hope that distraction will cause us to forget the challenges we face.
We look to our families for rest. We praise you for the gift of family, but we confess that we are not to put our hope in family.
Forgive us for not looking to you for rest.
Forgive us for simply saying amen and not changing our ways.
Guide us on this Sabbath day, in this time of worship and in every moment so that we might truly know the peace found only in you.

Affirmation of Faith: Apostles Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
the Creator of heaven and earth,
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived of the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended into hell.
The third day He arose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven
and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,
from whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting.
