Welcome and Announcements
Opening Prayer & Gathering Light for Our Darkness
Light for our darkness, faith for unbelief, health for mind and body when they languish; Christ, be among us, listen to our prayer, lift your weary people from their anguish.
Call to Worship (based on Psalm 36:7-9)
How precious is your steadfast love, O God! May all people take refuge in the shadow of your wings.
We feast on the abundance of your house, and you give us drink from the river of your delights.
For with you is the fountain of life;
in your light we see light.
Opening Hymn #455 All Creatures of Our God and King
(Please remain standing through the Sung Response)
Call to Confession
Prayer of Confession (based on 1 Corinthians 12:1-11)
You have blessed us with a variety of gifts, Holy God, but we are reluctant to share. We hoard what is most valuable and make excuses for ourselves when called to share. The Spirit has blessed each of us uniquely, but we hide our light under a bushel basket and fail to rise to our potential. God, forgive us and embolden us. Help us to claim our gifts and put them to good use. Amen.
Assurance of Pardon
Sung Response #2098 The Baby in a Manger Stall, vs. 6
Glory to God in depth and height! Alleluia! from dawn through night! All space and time in Christ rejoice, in praise to God, a single voice!
Baptism – Robert Grady Hall
(Son of Chelsea M. Hall and R. Buck Hall)
Affirmation of Baptismal Vows
Through baptism we enter the covenant God has established. Within this covenant God gives us new life, guards us from evil and nurtures us in love. In embracing that covenant, we choose whom we will serve, by turning from evil and turning to Jesus Christ.

Anthem Christus Paradox
Sylvia Dunstan/Trad. French/Alfred V Fedak
You, Lord, are both Lamb and Shepherd.
You, Lord, are both prince and slave.
You, peacemaker and swordbringer
of the way You took and gave.
You, the everlasting instant;
You, whom we both scorn and crave.
Clothed in light upon the mountain,
stripped of might upon the cross,
shining in eternal glory,
beggared by a soldier's toss,
You, the everlasting instant;;
You, who are both gift and cost.
You, who walk each day beside us,
sit in power at God's side.
You, who preach a way that's narrow,
have a love that reaches wide.
You, the everlasting instant;
You, who are our pilgrim guide.
Worthy is our earthly Jesus!
Worthy is our cosmic Christ!
Worthy your defeat and victory.
Worthy still your peace and strife.
You, the everlasting instant;
You, who are our death and life.
You, the everlasting instant;
You, who are our death and our life.
Alleluia [many times]
You, who are our death and our life.
Scripture Reading: John 2:1-11
Sermon: LOOK AND BE AMAZED: Do Whatever He Tells You
Affirmation of Faith - Apostles’ Creed (Traditional)
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth,
And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
