Welcome and Announcements

Opening Prayer & Gathering #2013 Bless the Lord

Bless the Lord, my soul and bless God's holy name.

Bless the Lord, my soul who leads me into life.

Call to Worship

We glorify you, O Lord, for you have lifted us up.

O Lord, our God, we cried out to you, and you healed us.

Sing praises to the Lord, O faithful ones, and praise God’s holy name.

For God’s anger is but for a moment, but God’s favor is for a lifetime.

Weeping may linger for the night, but joy comes with the morning.

O God, you have turned our mourning into dancing!

Let us worship God!

Opening Hymn #104 Christ is Risen! Shout Hosanna!

(Please remain standing through the Response to God’s Grace)

Call to Confession

Risen from the dead, Jesus Christ longs for us to know life in all of its fullness, offering us renewal and refreshment, hope and forgiveness. Let us trust in the promise of Easter as we make our confession before Almighty God.

Prayer of Confession

Generous God, in Jesus, you have shown us love— love that seeks, love that suffers, love that survives all things. You call us, even command us, to show that love in our lives. Yet we turn away from what you would have us do. We confess that the ways of love are not our ways. We deny and ignore, hurt and hate, despise and reject. Have mercy on us. Help us to receive your love so that we can love others. Help us to receive your love so that we can love ourselves.

Assurance of Pardon and Exchange of Peace*

The resurrection of Jesus shows us the grace of God is stronger than death and the love of God has no boundary. This is good news!

In Jesus Christ we are forgiven!

May the Peace of Christ be with you. And also with you.

Response to God's Grace #122 Thine is the Glory (refrain)

Thine is the glory, Risen, conquering Son;

Endless is the victory, Thou o'er death hast won.

Sermon for Faith Builders

Children may join Ms. Marisa, our Children's Worship Leader, to stay for our prayer time, and then leave the sanctuary for Children's Worship. They will return during the final hymn.

Sermon Peace Be With You

The Heart of Our Worship Revelation 5:11-14

Great Thanksgiving

This table is open to all you seek the Lord, Jesus Christ in faith, repentance and love.

The Lord be with you. And also with you.

Lift up your hearts. We lift them to the Lord.

Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.

It is right to give our thanks and praise.

Blessed are you, O Lord our God: You are our light in darkness, our way in the world. When, like Saul of Tarsus, we resist your sovereign voice, you come with blinding insight, calling us to conversion. Therefore we praise you, joining the song of the universal church and the heavenly choir:

Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of Power and Might: Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is the One who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.

Blessed is Jesus Christ, our Savior: The risen Christ still surprises us with his presence, inviting us to follow him, to come and eat with him; calling us to love him and to feed the sheep of his flock. Remembering your goodness and grace, we offer ourselves to you with gratitude as we share this joyful feast. Great is the mystery of the faith: Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ shall come again.

Pour out your Holy Spirit upon us and upon this bread and cup; make us one in the body and blood of Jesus Christ our Lord. Teach us the songs of saints and angels around your throne, so that we too may fall down and worship you, singing: “Worthy is the Lamb!”

Through the Lord Jesus Christ, in the unity of the Spirit, we bless you, God of glory, now and forever.
